Fluke? Which year was it that James didn't take himself out on more than one occasion?

Both in 2009 were flukes as someone above pointed out. A1, someone wrecked into him. Daytona, the front end washed out in the "icy" first turn. All I'm saying is, those were not a result of him riding over his head. Without those, the season was a joke.
History says that it happens more often than not. That would make 2009 the fluke...but, you knew that already, right?

We've already discussed his mishaps in the 09 sx season. The 08 Motocross season he was perfect, staying on 2 wheels wasn't a problem there. There pretty much was no 08 SX season. In 07 sx he definitely had some crashing issues, although If I recall correctly he never went down in a race that Ricky was not in? Is that correct? I think the same applies to MX as well except for his season ending bobble, which was just that.

Stewart definitely had a tendency to crash quite a bit early in his career, and this is motocross so he will definitely crash more in his career. But it seems to me that his days of checkers or wreckers may be over.

Reed is hard to beat in the first few rounds- he always starts the season strong, I expect him to win A1. Wait! Wait!
Stewart will claim the series. RV will take a few. I don't expect Dungey to win rounds he still has some work cut out. If Pourcel moved to 450 & were healthy he would gather several wins over Stewart though, we've yet to see him ride healthy since his paralyzing injury.

Matt Moss will be a top 5 guy.

The only way Stewie isn't going to win this title is if one of the other guys steps up enough to pressure him the way RC used too. The minute he is pushed HARD like he was with Ricky he will start crashing again. The sad part is that he can beat most of the field riding at 98% of his ability. He would never crash if he got the holeshot in every race and could just check out. I really hope this doesn't happen. I would like to see some good racing this year. If we could get back to the days where you never knew who was going to win like the early to mid eighties that would be great. Between MC RC and Stewart we have seen way too much domination.

That being said I think (would like to believe) that RV CR and Dungey will have the speed to push James like RC used too. It should be a very good season to watch. I would really like to see Dungey get a win or two as well as seing RV get some more. And wouldn't it be nice if KW came back to his former spot? As a fan I would like to see a battle royal between 5 or 10 guys who had the skill to win on any given day.

Either way I am really looking forward to the 2010 season both indoors and out and would like to wish ALL of the riders in the field a healthy and succesful season of racing.

Interesting. He was pushed many times last season, yet he seemed to crash when Reed was further back and not pushing him.

Just my opinion but I think he knew he had Chad covered whereas Ricky got under his skin. He didn't KNOW he had Ricky under control like he does Chad. (Not saying anything bad about CR mind you) When I say pushed this is what I mean. It's more of a mental thing with James.

I agree. I also think he has matured as a racer and doesn't make as many mistakes as he used to when he was trying to hold off or catch Ricky.

As long as Stewart doesn't get too messed up from the two or three highlight reel crashes he typically has, he will win.

I don't see anyone mounting a serious challenge. I think Villopoto and Reed will both bring the fight to him at times, but their biggest battles will be with each other. I think Dungey will be a tick off these guys, and Josh Hill will have some real breakout rides.

I think Stewart has lots of winning years left in him too. I bet it won't be until he is older and contemplating retirement anyway that he is finally beaten, much like it was for McGrath. It will be someone like Pourcel or Barcia, maybe Villopoto or Dungey.

I wonder how many 16/17 year old Riders from the States will be racing the outdoors and then SX in Australia in 2010. I can see the young SX hotshots doing this series instead of the outdoor series, that they are not allowed to compete in till 18.

It is reported the 2 young guns who raced and won our Junior Nationals will be back to race our u/19 MX Series. Hope the Euro's get over for SX as well 2010 Aussie SX will be bigger than the AMA series if 2009 is anything to go by.

Big Lenny and Lil Bobby better start saving and book early flights.

I know what you mean. But bubba did crash a few times whilst Reed was just behind him. Other times, he just crashed for the hell of it.

I hope the Aussie SX gets bigger but the Aussie SX series being biger than the AMA series? Really? I have heard about 10K is the normal attendance rate over there, I'd say 30K-70K is what the US series gets. I don't see the Aussie series passing ours for quite some time.

No I don't mean in Spectator #'s just the racing quality, basically why I watch is to see RACING. This is what has happenned in every race in this years series and with a lot more riders next year it will only get better.

The basic 15/20 lap races can stay with the AMA, I have watched delayed telecasts of most if not all AMA SX and MX in the last 5 + years. I can honestly say I never thought the Australian SX would have a better package than the AMA, but do yourself a favour and watch the racing from this years series. Farkin Unbeleivable.

I am not putting your series down just saying that our Product is better. I am not saying our riders are better just the RACING is way ahead. LIVE telecasts as well, no editing like your delayed TV show and the racing is way more exciting.

I love watching Racing and for an old bastard like me to get excited it means they have got something right. Oi Oi Oi.

Stewart had RC covered in SX. #7 got fucked out of his first title by the AMA. RC should of never got those points back for running bad fuel. Outdoors was another story. RC had Stewart's number.

If you're serious I'll take Bubba against the field for $50.

I agree that Stewie was faster than RC inside but he didn't mentally know he could beat him 90% of the time. For lack of a better term I think Ricky scared James and I don't think Chad scares him at all. (although he probably should) Chad beat James last year by hounding him to death and into a mistake at least once and maybe just maybe he can do it again but on a more consistent basis in 2010. JMO of course and all I really hope for is good racing this year no matter who wins the title.

As for the fuel thing..... you are probably right. The AMA sould not have taken the points from ANY of the riders for the infinitecimal amounts of lead they were over. However once they took them they should not have given them back. Just another example of the AMA being improperly managed and weak willed.
