i break a few bikes for parts and i always type notes, ie so its easy for me to say to customers but double check or im sure one of the more knowledgeable honda guys will confirm buddy.....
rear wheels are the same fitment from 87-01 CR500, 87-99 CR250, and 87-99 CR125,
but rim width is 1.85 wide on 125, 89-01 rear wheels had 32 spokes, 87-88 had 36.
Front wheels will work 1984-1994, 95 up had bigger axle.
hope that helps
Andrew !
Thank you so much!!!!
Great information
Mike
A big thing, if you get say a 500 ( well, andrew kaos has so helpfully given you the list of hubs / wheels to find) hub or wheel, is the double bearings on the sprocket side. So, 3 x 6004(?) bearings all up instead of the 1 x 6004, and 1 x 6024(?) on the sprocket side. If it's a whole wheel you get, I'd not be worried about a 2.15" rim over the 1.85". My CR/XR hybrid had No problem with wider rims.
I still use an 89 125 wheel as a spare for my CRE500, (but it's now got a 2.50" rim on it, not the 1.85"), but found and fitted a (bloody expensive!) double row bearing to the sprocket side, though I did That long before the 500 use, as it was a problem known of. I can't recall the bearing I used, but it required my making a new wheel spacer for the sprocket side, and, of course, modifying the internal bearing spacer. It was all done decades ago, so the details are a bit hazy in my Bear brain.
