Good afternoon everyone, I am posting this for myself haha. My sister started a GoFundMe today due to recent events. In 2020 I was paralyzed racing and recently I have been gaining sensation and very very small amount of motor in my hip flexors. If anyone can see it in their hearts to help out we are trying to achieve a 30k goal to get stem cell therapy to help with recovery. We have had many setbacks including 15 surgeries since the first surgery to repair my bursted T10, broken T11 and kinked spinal cord. Three bouts with MRSA and staff infection which has lead to blood transfusions and months of IV antibiotics around the clock.
Thank you all for taking the time to read and if you did donate, it truly means the world to myself, fiancé, and son! https://gofund.me/c5d6c4b3
I hope that you’re able to do this and it works out for you
Much appreciated, my legs are strong enough to support weight and when I transfer my legs straighten and contract. This allows the transfer by feet. Talk about a mental rollercoaster!
You'll be up and about soon! Faith works and "miracles" happen every day!
They are doing really amazing things with spinal injuries in Medellín, Colombia. Not sure what clinic you are working with, but from what I know, cells from an umbilical cord are key.
Just out of curiousity, which clinic are you planning to visit?

Hey Mav, I am looking at this one in Panama https://www.cellmedicine.com/. The research I have done shows Panama as the most ethical when it comes to the quality of the adult umbilical cord cells.
I hope so! You are correct on the umbilical cord cells. I have also seen bone marrow cells surfacing as a candidate but it is more in the infant stage.
Praying for a good outcome, and please keep us posted on your progress!
Best of luck to you... PLEASE keep us posted on the results. I know there is a lot of interest in Stem Cell in people with injuries (myself included) so I am always looking for feedback. You ask 5 different people about Stem Cells, and you can get 5 different answers. I looked into Panama, Los Algodones (Mexico), and Tijuana. It is such an investment you want to go to the right place. I would be interested in the research that you did to narrow it down to that location. I'll PM you. Donated. Best of luck.
I do not get PM but my email is zycki251@gmail.com
You've probably already come across it when doing research, but the following place seems to get some good results:

I have, but I haven’t ruled it out. It is between the one I posted and this one. Hopefully whichever I choose it works out well haha
This is the one in Medellín I was talking about. I know for a fact that many professional athletes are going here and seeing great results for all sorts of injuries. And last time I was down there a friend of mine mentioned that there was a parapalegic that got movement back.
Of course every situation is unique, and I can't personally vouch for this clinic, as I haven't been there myself. I have been researching treatment for my hands and knees for at least 5 years, and this is where I would go. I can vouch for the Colombian medical system in general. My colombiana's mom had an aneurysm and the public neuro hospital in Medellín was excellent. The private clinics are even better quality of course. Colombia will take very good care of you.
Btw...Colombia is the most moto crazy culture I know of. I used to ride at the Yamaha track in Medellín a lot. Yamaha went cheap skate on the facility and just provided the land. They have an assembly plant right next door (you can see part of it in the corner of the pic) and are the largest Japanese OEM in the country. Colombians love Yamaha too, but unfortunately they don't put any money into the sport there.
PM me if you want any more info about Medellín and if you decide to go down there I will put you in touch with a couple of local gringos. Praying for you my brother, God bless!
Perhaps that is my pause, the old Mexican Cartel and the area? I know the other place puts you in a hotel and shuttles you to and from.
Word to the wise.
There are four main sources of stem cells, i.e. embryonic tissues, fetal tissues, adult tissues and differentiated somatic cells after they have been genetically reprogrammed, which are referred to as induced pluripotent stem cells.
I think it's safe to assume they are harvested from abortions....
Not in the latin countries, they are taken from the placenta, or umbilical cord. If you have ever been to Colombia for example and seen the number of young mothers, you would know that abortion is not happening.
What does Columbia specifically have to do with it? Merely becuase you can see Mother's with babies?
Cultural values, they don't have abortion clinics.
I wanted to take the time to thank everyone who has donated thus far. I have noticed a few moto members donate without a single word spoken to me and it truly means everything. Pretty cool when Wes Williams and Don Emler pop up

That’s just not true
Paul, you are taking something that is very important to my life and making it about a political/religious personal viewpoint that doesn’t belong in this thread. Yes, certain clinics (non regulated in Asian countries) do what you say. The research is what prevents this from being used, and finding the most reputable clinic who uses ADULT umbilical cells that are donated.
Please do me a favor and just let it be.
I just wanted to say thank you again to everyone who pitched in. We are slowly working our way to the goal. Thank y’all so much.
