Blair mentioned in the forum that was linked he wanted the forks and carb off it. Most likely ill be running an '09 and wants the smaller carb used in 05. (No Bog) Not sure about the suspension.

haha.. he first posted this on a local Nor-Cal forum. He says that he wants parts from an '05. To be exact, he wants the carb and the forks from an '05 CRF 250. Just trying to clear things up....

Well if he has a good 09 and cant $$$ the 10' this would be an ok route to go.

i think we might see a lot more Pro Privateers going
2 yrs and maybe 3 yrs on a bike. if they are the ones
forking out the $8g's for one. it might be better for them
to run 2 yrs and get contingency money for the same
bikes for 2 yrs stretching the money out.

Also....wonder why he wanted the 05 forks, they are the same forks up to 08 with valving changes......Im sure he doesn't run anything stock in the forks so why not get the 08-09's revalved in theory he only needed the carb?

Hey just wanted to say thanks to everyone who emailed me and offered support. I was actually just looking for the carb and forks off an 05 and thanks to some really cool people it looks like I got it covered. I am racing 09 CRF's next year and needed that 37MM carb so my bike doesn't bog every 5 seconds like the 40MM. And the forks......it's kind of a secret why but I needed the 05 forks for SX.


So thanks again everyone for the offers and support. You have no idea how many people emailed me offering to sell me or let me ride there 05. Shows how giving the MX community really is!

I know it's a secret but why the 05 forks?

BTW: I grew up in the Linden/LodiStockton area and followed a lot of the nor cal mx scene when you were racing I remember you putting a whoopin on the field at oatfield....any chance you remember a guy named Robert Simpson? I went to high school with him and remember him mentioning racing you, also Justin from SVM.

ya I know Justin at SVM really well. And Robert Simpson ya I remember him too, a bit older then me though. Anyways, its not so much the 05 forks......but anything pre 2009. There are some things inside the 09 fork that suck.

Cool.....I know Justin really well from school and riding down here with him, very good dude. I figured it wasn't just the 05 forks just wondering because I didn't think there were many changes up till 09. Glad to see you are making another run in SX ....good luck this year!

You can also get the carb off a Kawi (37mm).. We have a 06 honda 250F with a kawi 250F carb and put the honda carb on the kawi and both bikes completely different. much better for both!

Ha! I have an 05 CRF250. I knew it was a winner. The carb issues have been spoken about for years now, and tuners seems to prefer the smaller 05 carb.

THE FORK! That's a new one. I sold my pair and bought some new 07 stuff. There's no way on earth the 05 is better in internal design. I have newer heard about that before, and chances for him to find new forks are rather slim?

What I think he's after is that the 05 (even 04) hand longer upper tubes for being able to put a 20" wheel on (raise the forks to compensate). I see a connection between that and the "stink bug" critique. Instead of lowering the rear, maybe he thinks of doing that and raising the front as well? I had that idea myself the other day if this new 010 is such a "bad" bike.

Just saying of course...

hey, now thats something to think about.. you get the carb you want, plus you can have williamsmotowerx fix it up for you.. BEST carb work i ever had done! and trust me, i have tried alot.
