When did you log that time at the luge though? After these rains it’s definitely got more gnarly coming down.

🤣🤣🤣 weak answer a solid answer would be hitting the loop again instead of boasting about your time you set years back. You have a lap time at Millville one year you don’t compare to the current year conditions change. You tell the track worker to smoothen it out then? You ever hear it in motocross bringing up times from the previous year. Yeah dude.

Please, that Sub 3min Luge time will always be legit. Everyone but you knows that.

Yeah, trail conditions change over the years and so can times. But let’s keep it real, the Luge is always getting repaired to keep speeds up.

Keep thinking that way buddy your little 140-150mm XC bike would struggle on it in the current conditions.

Stantards!

You can take the forks out of any modern bike and put them on another bike.

Same thing with wheels. Most of them are "boost" spec.

is that why there's a new standard every year in the mtb industry?

My earlier comment was about sizing of motos. As a longtime MTB rider, I’m pretty finicky about fit on my MTB, that’s carried over to my motorcycles as well. I really can’t understand how someone at 5’ 5””, or 6’ 5”, can comfortably ride a standard dirt bike with no changes in the fit parts.

We don’t comfortably 😂😂😂

never sure where to ask this:

I want to get into mtb. We dont really have downhill here in kentucky but I want a trail bike that I can ride a ways out to a trail, "unlock" the suspension, and go ride. Any suggestions on bikes? Price ranges? Seems like you can spend your retirement on a bike but I just want the first "price landing" point where they stop sucking. I don't care if its carbon or the lightest thing out there. I don't care if it's got the coolest gearing setup. I just want a full suspension bike that works well. Really appreciate any pointers!

Not sure where you are in kentucky but Windrock near knoxville is awesome for DH. Several of the top Pros train there

I have been MXing for 30yrs but the last two years got into MTB and I find myself wanting a steering stabilizer at times anybody else? I see Canyon has one now but wondering if that will catch on?

Steering stabilizers were much more popular for DH when the head angles were steeper. Not needed as much with todays bikes. Plus, it became more difficult to fit them with integrated headsets.

I used to run a hopey damper on the DH bikes up until around 2012 ish. http://www.hopey.org

I second the stump jumper recommendation for a good all a rounder for the semi flat lands but I’d go with the EVO version.

It’s probably the best trail bike: rails at nothing, excels at nothing.

I mean I’m not buying one, but for a regular guy getting into it I think it’s a valid easy choice.

It’s a fantastic bike. I have one too. It will do downhill and cross country. It won’t win any big jumps but it can jump. It’s not too heavy. It’s a great trail bike that can do it all.

Motocross technology could stop today and everyone would be perfectly happy. More doesn’t mean better it just means more.
