Hi i have an 07 rm 125 and i recently bought a factory rmz linkage for 2010 250 was it told it would fit but im not sure comparing to the one i bought from trick engineering there some minor difference.
Has anyone tried to fit this new a year linkage on a 2 stroke
I will include pics of the two
Bumping this as i could do with an answer before i buy a bearing kit for it can't try it on the bike as its in storage and i don't have time to work on it this week
Best bet is to get out a caliper and start comparing measurements. Only thing I noticed in the pics is this part appears to be a different width? Probably due to a difference in the mounting point on the swingarm.
I will measure them when I get i did measure some bits last night but not sure which section it was but it was the same width in mm but point a few mm difference.
Thanks for your help

The linkage should fit. I ran a link from a 2006 RMZ450 on my 08 RM250, so there is some level of RMZ to RM compatibility with linkages.
If the link fits then its a pretty safe option to use. If it is longer it will lower the rear. This may or may not be a good thing depending on what you are looking for.
I'd be careful using the knuckle. Even if it fits, the positions for each bearing point may be different to the standard RM knuckle and could give a different leverage ratio for the shock.
If you are purely looking to use this for aesthetic reasons, I'd personally get the stock stuff cleaned up/casting lines removed and anodized or w.e. rather than potentially messing with the handling using RMZ stuff. I removed my RMZ longer link, went back to stock and much preferred it. The RM chassis is really good stock with a decent suspension set up.
Thanks for your input would you mind saying what you didn't like about the longer link.
I was looking for a setup that felt a bit more stable in the straight lines but still corners well it can be a bit twitchy in certain situations.
And i thought maybe a lower centre of gravity might make hunker down and hug the corners like the feeling i get on my mtb
Also it would be good to hear other people's experience with longer linkages and what they liked and disliked.
I gained some stability but lost some of the sharp turn in feel. So its a trade off and depends on your preference. The longer link is definitely better for sand.
I find I can achieve similar results by adding a few mm of sag.
The longer link also makes the shock a little stiffer initially, which again can be good or bad. I ride more mud/hardpack and UK tracks are a little slower and tighter than US so the link didn't benefit me. But on big, fast, open tracks I think it could work a lot better
I will give it a go and see what I think of it then as with everything sounds like a compromise thanks for taking the time to explain your experience
