Those period YZs have the weirdest looking frames I’ve ever seen around the steering head. What was Yamaha trying to achieve with that design?

haha , yeah with a tank off it looks like someone got a measurement wrong ! Id guess its to keep the COG where they want it with the fuel tank ?? Not sure
