Looks great
Time to dial in the carb: fresh everything, no airbox currently. Stock settings show #50 pilot jet, #360 main jet, needle clip @ #4 and air screw 2 turns out.
I've got to double check my settings but bikes running a bit rich, i suppose thats ok for break-in purposes but want to dial it in to get it perfect.
Where can i find main and pilot jets at?
I have this stored away. Scored on ebay years ago.
ordered graphics today.
Go the carb dialed in on the table last night.
Waiting on suspension.
Will update with pics once everythings back together.

You got that thing together FAST. I think rebuilding my '99 KX took about 7 months, but this thing feels like you started on it just last week. Nice work. It's almost done!
Was about 13 weeks I think.
thanks though, it feels like I was waiting on parts constantly!
Suspension set up next Friday and first track ride Friday 4/7.
Graphics shipped, should have within the next 2-3 weeks.
Trying to sort the carb out, i think i might be lean; going to test and tune this week and order some other jet sizes.
Current jet is a 370; ordering a 350 and a 360. Stock bore with full PC pipe and aftermarket air filter. No other performance mods. Bike idled and rev'd great but was flat at the first hit, thinking it was running rich, some more smoke than i'm used to seeing as well. Weather is dumpy the next few days so not sure if i'll be on the track soon so will have to tune in my yard haha.

Maybe this helps
Thanks for sharing; i wrote that down and ordered 350 and 360 main jets today. Its pretty close but i think the 370 was too rich for stock size piston.
'Merica.
Jets come tomorrow; suspension set-up today; graphics arriving next week and first ride at the track next friday!
Looks great! Where you riding that thing next Friday?
If weather holds up, sunset ridge
Ok changing to 350 main cleaner up the revs a lot
now I have a big off idle; pilot jet?
gonna tune some more tomorrow
My 99 has a different carb. I went with whatever pro circuit recommend. Or stock I can't remember. But I set it up once and it ran great. No chance to ride in a couple years.
Pit Row
Looks amazing! Looks like you started with a good base too. Didn't look very rough to begin with.
Ya it would give it a 4/10 when i bought it. All the wear and tear items needed replaced and it was missing a few important things but the rolling chassis was mechanically sound.
appreciate the compliments!
Your hardcore to be riding in this weather. Main jet on the rich side for sand riding. It’s windy& cold here yet with patchy snow banks.
I'm near Janesville and we've had weather all over lately but after Wednesday supposed to be 60's and sun and then improving this weekend.
I'm very much a fair weather rider for open riding but will get muddy if a race is on the line.
Hoping to head your way, either Valley, the Berms or Viking Cycle park in the coming weeks.
Todays the day!
Sunset ridge at noon.
Was hoping graphics kit would show up before but oh well; maybe next week, damn things sitting in chicago in customs since monday.....
Bike did great; far better than i did, haha. Track was rough and deep with big jumps. Probably not the best thing to ride after 20 years off but i had fun and thats what matters.
Rear shock upper bearing loosened up for some reason so picked up a rebuild kit for it and the rear caliper guard disappeared somewhere, sometime on the track.
Graphics just cleared customs so hoping i have them this week; next ride is Wednesday at 430pm.
All done!
That bike looks amazing!!! A set of those retro purple Renthals would set it off if you could find them! Still looks great without them though.
Beautiful. Looking back on my same build from the first page, it looks like I got the cheap version of those graphics and now kinda regret it. I think I found them on eBay originally. Where did you get these at? Overall, great build. I personally spent more time than I liked with the carb adjustments and ultimately got a Lectron with great results, but admire your patience in getting it right. Are you holding onto this one long term?
No matter how many PC replicas I see I never get tired of them when done right. Nice work 👍🏻
A seller on ebay from the UK; took a couple weeks to get here and paid about $200 for them but they are super thick and perfectly cut; only had one imperfection installing them and it was my fault.
yes, a lectron carb is on my list for next winters build/refresh.
thank for the compliments; i plan on keeping this one for a couple years.
agreed; theres something about the PC graphics that is always eye catching. I was in high school when team PC started getting big with Brown, RC, etc. and i wasn't a big fan of this specific graphics scheme back then, but once i saw it again i was sold. after getting them installed, seeing it in person, the pics can't do it justice.
thanks for the compliments!
