Pretty not low key here. I think they still will have at least 5 riders on the grid, LOL. R2R Poker Tourney last afternoon, TWMX Moto Awards last night, pits with bikes from the 4 major OEM, Seems ok to me.

The rider's list is always a mistery/joke until the last minute, it's always been like that since the beginning.

Shenzi, you can't deny the hype has been muffled quite a bit and regardless of what you say, the uncertainty of who is and isn't participating has never been like this. You and I both know the economy and uncertainty has thrown a lot of spin on things this year.

I am flying down from Canada and have a lot of mates coming in from Australia for this race.
On the ussx.com website it says there are a bunch of riders confirmed to ride including Reed. I will get over it but would be disappointed not to see him ride.

Why don't the factories run their contracts from mid October so that the riders at least have a deal to race this damn event. It seems this happens every year and causes some grief at the MXDN I am sure.

Makes sense to me but what would I know? I'm just a spectator!

For sure, it's always been an issue and they never manage to lock/confirm riders. It is definitely lower key, I agree, I was wrong in my higher post to tone that down. It is a lower turn out in the pits. I am not surprised of low attendance because the economy is still in the shitter and this is an expensive weekend for a fan.

But I agree that it is not a good rider turn out. There is a very strong feeling of uncertainty in pro racing with a lot of fast riders without a deal right now. Sponsorship money is sparse and many riders didn't want to take the risk to come out and get hurt in what is a really aggressive race because the passing is limited.

On the riders line up though, I haven't trusted the promoters for a few years now, they always do that and announce all the big names months before and usually 20% show up.
