Former AMA Supercross Lites Champ Lusk Comes out of Retirement to Race Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open

AURORA, Ill. (September 24, 2009) – Feld Motor Sports℠ announced today that former 1994 Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Lites class champion Ezra Lusk will come out of retirement to compete at the Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open inside Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena October 9-11.

Lusk, who retired in 2004 following the Washougal AMA Motocross National, has 12 AMA Supercross class wins and seven AMA Supercross Lites class wins. Riding a MB1/Tokyo Mods Suzuki, Lusk returns to the track very optimistic.

“I am not sure what to expect at this race,” said Lusk. “I never stopped riding, just racing, so I have had plenty of seat time and excellent training. This is a great opportunity for me to showcase what I have. It’s going to be tough just making it to the main event, but this is a unique race. History shows that the fastest guy doesn’t always win the overall.”

After retiring from professional racing, Lusk fueled his competitive edge on the amateur tennis circuit in Georgia and Florida, returning to a game he grew up playing. The same can be said about his return to racing.

“Going back to playing tennis was a natural transition because I played so much when I was younger. I hope the same holds true at this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open.”

Lusk joins defending Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open champion James Stewart, former Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open champion Chad Reed and former Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open runner-up Kevin Windham at this year’s race.

Tickets for the 2009 Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open are available at Ticketmaster locations, Carter Powersports (located at 6275 South Decatur Blvd. Las Vegas, NV 89118) the MGM Grand Garden Arena box office, www.ussx.com or by phone at (800) 745-3000.

Was going to go Friday and Saturday but with $63.00 minimum ticket price (+ Fees), No Kid tickets available and $30.00 Pit Pass. You are out of mind if you think I am going to spend nearly $500.00 for a Father and Son to watch a glorified Arenacross race.

Went 1 time.. biggest waste of money I have ever spent on moto..
Of course I paid full price for tickets, pit passes, rooms etc..
If I were to go again, I would probably get a low budget room at Primm/state-line, drive in for the race, no pit passes and buy tickets from the "scalper" that will be selling them in the hall way for $20.

Yes... $20

Hey... I think I am talking myself into going.

I liked it for the atmosphere alone. Just went to sat night race and pits that day. Saw shitloads of insiders, hot chicks, and the race was so so...didn't care for the actual race as much as I did buying beers and talking to the pros and groupies.
