So if he's out, will the AMA let him race supercross which will give him a month to prepare, or will it be like Vick's situation where Goodell won't let him play until after week 6?

I don't know how they could. He already did the crime and was allowed to race MX. He's just doing his time now and shouldn't be knocked for doing the time. Theoretically he would have paid his debt to society and should not be denied his living.

I think the punishment will be enough. I know that he has had chance after chance, but this might be his turning point.

ama has no rein or say so on civil or court matters. They only contol the racing enviroment and/or events they sanction including facilities.

anything else, AMA has no say so. jlaw rolls a rental car anywhere other than AT the track, AMA cant do piss all to him. He gets drunk and into a fight the night before a national and its in town, not AT the track, AMA cant do anything. All the AMA controls is the racing enviroment that weekend.

This is one place were we dont follow the nascar model lol. nascar, you get a speeding ticket they can deep fry you because your outside actions are deemed detrimental to the nascar family.

Of course he will still be be on probation so has to be approved by the State for any traveling outside of California, not to mention NO BOOZE!!!

NASCAR and other organizations have many times suspended participants for "actions detrimental to the sport"

Ask Kurt Busch about his DUI outside of any track facility (but in Phoenix on a race weekend, if I remember right) and he was still suspended.
NASCAR and other organizations believe their athletes have a reputation to uphold both on and off the field (track)

and who owns AMA Pro Racing now?

I know when my brother filled out his pro card application, he had to sign and agree to AMA's (or DMG's) "code of conduct", which I'm sure includes terms like "detrimental to the sport" and other things. Or it could mean nothing since Jason sells seats with his following. He may be back racing but then again, he may not be allowed. Should be interesting to see what happens.

Wrong buddy. The AMA is a private organization, they have full control over who can and cannot participate in their events.

“The judge was very favorable,” said Sepkovic. “In the end, I believe that the final outcome will be a positive one.”

I can show you alot based on "on track" or "on premises" AT an AMA sanctioned event, but you show us 1 where they pulled a license, or barred entry based on something that didnt happen on the track or at the track.

Read what i wrote tough guy. I didn't say that they WILL do anything, i merely said that they CAN, as they are the owners of the series. Racing in the AMA series is a privilege, not a right.

Emig and Lechien got busted with some pot (both lost rides over it too), but that is a slap on the wrist charge (no jail sentences) compared to what Lawrence has done and what he is serving time for.

Former Western Region 250cc Supercross Champion Jason Lawrence was booked and arrested on Tuesday, September 8, on charges related to his assault of his friend Ryan McPhillips last summer. Lawrence was sentenced to one year in a Riverside County jail, but has yet to be placed into a specific facility.

In a conversation with Lawrence’s agent Scott Sepkovic this morning, Wednesday, September 9, we learned that the J-Law Inc. team will carry on in 2010 and beyond, with team riders to be named shortly.

“The judge was very favorable,” said Sepkovic. “In the end, I believe that the final outcome will be a positive one.”

I'm guessing none of the guys were already signed to the team for 010.
