OMG, it is still sinking in but it ain't a dream. Our team, which we affectionately refer to as the Island of Misfits Toys, was awarded the Team of the Year Award at the MX Sports/AMA Banquet. It is really the award most appropriate for a group of individuals that donate their time and money, and in some cases, almost their lives, to allow talented but resourced disadvantaged men and women to live their dreams.

I thank everybody that has ever ridden for, supported, volunteered, worked for, and contributed or sponsored (OK, there are a few people that were miscreants along the way but now is not the time to get negative) what started out as my strange little experiment. The experiment being: "Can one person with modest resources make a material difference in the sport of Motocross by creating a program to help the privateers and still have real business value for the sponsors or social value to benefactors and philanthropists?" The answer was no, not until literally hundreds of individuals joined what I will call a movement to help the privateers.

The Warthog Racing Academy is truly a team for the people, by the people. We do the best we can on meager resources and try our best almost always. We have a long ways to go because although I am pleased with our successes to date, we can and must better. We need to raise more money and run a tighter, yet compassionate operation. We need to stick to our focus of acting as a safety net for the professional riders that slip through the cracks and being the springboard to get them to the next level.

Thanks you MX Sports for recognizing us in this way, it means so much to so many people. MX Sports (which is really just a group of people who love motocross) worked tirelessly to help us survive our biggest challenges ever. God willing, I will do this until the day I die; nothing has been more gratifying than watching our riders and MMI technicians move on to the next level, which many have.

My latest goals are more audacious than ever: "I want Warthog Racing to be part of the sport of Motocross and Supercross that will change the sport for the better, forever, and for everyone in it." And I believe it is possible, because it is.

Thanks again to every one that believes in us. We will keep going as long as the sun keeps coming up . . .

It was a pleasure and a privilege to ride for WWR this SX Season. It would not of been possible without the efforts of Scott and everyone involved. Thanks guys!

Congratulations, Scott! You, Chris, Stitch, Mole and everyone involved deserve it. You hung in there in the face of adversity and at no small personal cost. To smaller and better things next year!

A no-brainer obviously. Team of the decade is more appropriate.

Without WWH the last few years they would be lucky to put 30 riders on the gate.

a couple of times they had 20-30% of the field under their tent.

it's a monumental undertaking I have no idea how Scotty continues to fund this deal.

I agree with Chad , Team of the decade

I thought you were always "Team of the year"! You always have been to me. You help a lot of people who are some of the best stories in SX and MX, Cody Gilmore comes to mind.....
