So I have done a bunch of searching and still confused on whether or not I should upgrade my 2004 YZ125 exhaust system? I ride 50/50 track and single track and wondering if it will be beneficial for me to upgrade.
Thanks

I ran on my 02 the pro circuit with the shorty back then. It takes away a little of the bottom end gives it a good mid hit and better top end pull.

Other stuff I did was a complete Hinson clutch setup. I added 1 tooth to the rear sprocket. I also had the suspension done.

Never got to try out a reed block on it doubt it would help much. Renthal RC bend bars. Grips works connection frame guards skid plate

Tossed the stock tires for a Dunlop D755 front and D756 rear. Took it out n raced it in the local arena cross series and some outdoor stuff. Check out these old crappy first gen digital camera pics I found of me on my 02.

First pic is like my second ride on it first real ride at the track front number plate bolt came loose. Others from the ax stuff. Wish that track in the first pic was still around.

I was thinking about FMF Fatty with Turbine Core 2 or Pro Circuit 296 S/A silencer? I can get either setup new for about $350.

Either one of those would be good

Would you recommend adding the V-Force 3 reed valve system also?

If they are in great condition, I would be interested.

Damn, that is a good deal.

I would grab that deal that the other member here offered up but before installing, I would continue using the stock pipe until it gets smashed.

I know everyone says ride till the stock pipe is smashed. I say take it off and put it away then sell it later. Unsmashed oem pipes and silencers are worth $$.

I work part time for a local motorcycle shop and our employee discount is really great!

Best thing you can do is run fresh premix and get your jetting and air-screw dialled in, before you go for the pipe. Instant throttle response and long top-end pull are all benefits you'll get from this basic first step.

When I raced these bikes in Australia, DEP was the go-to pipe. They were AWESOME, back then.

The pro circuit R304 shorty silencer (stock head pipe) was also a great improvement over stock, but get the bike tuned properly to begin with. If you've got spooge, you're not ready for a pipe.

No spooge, bike runs crisp! I have to have a spark arrester, so I was also thinking about factory pipe and aftermarket silencer SA.

If I decide to just run the stock pipe and a PC 296 silencer, will I need to rejet? Also, would it be worth adding the V-force reeds with the PC silencer?

Depends where you're at on your air-screw, you may need a new pilot.

Yes, V-force is a nice boost if you're squeezing everything out of the bike.
