Seems to me since such a large percentage of riders that reach the podium thank God it must not be all that bad. I can't ever remember a rider reaching the podium and thanking Satan, or proclaiming God had nothing to do with it. I'm not a particularly religious person but I've never reached a national podium either. Hmmmm...
