A few months ago somebody on this board threatened to beat up Bobby M for a rant he posted on this message board. Matthes himself was harassed by Jason Lawrence and some cronies because of an article he wrote. And anyone who posts with me on MotoTalk knows who holds the leash of my most persistent detractor.

I've encountered plenty of cronyism on these boards. Accountability in this diminutive sport too often results in blacklisting and violence for my comfort level. Even your friend Bruhn would agree with this position to some degree.

At this point it would be sloppy and borderline idiotic to reveal what involvement I have in SX/MX.

Do I know the Alessi's = yes , but just from meeting them at the track and the air port several times , we don't go to dinner or anything.

All three of them have been nothing but polite to me and outside of the Tedesco kill switch deal, I've never personally witnessed any type of what I would call bad behavior.

Tony is involved in Alessi Racing 24/7, but yet all you have to talk about are incidents that happened several years ago? If he is as bad as some of you (for some reason really want to) make him out to be, then I would expect we would hear of more incidents all the time, not just once a season here and there.

And what exactly is Tony supposed to "let go to Decoster"? Is Roger going to run the Alessi support organization for Mike? If you think thats how factory teams operate, then you may want to hang arouund more to see how they really operate.

The factory teams try to maximize results within thier budgets. That does not include managing the lives of thier pilots. Factory teams do not provide practice facilities in different climates with different soils so the riders can get practice in different conditions/altitudes. The factory does not pay for the practice bike mechanic, and they do not even pay for 100% of the race bike mechanic.

So Tony "letting go to Roger" does not really change all that much for Mike. If Tony really let go, they would need to hire people to replace him. Before you really feel Tony, or any other MX parent, are just showing up at the races to stand on the sidelines to yell at thier kids and create trouble, you should hang around with them at the races and see what all they really do while thier kids are under the factory tent, and racing.
