I’m in Temecula for few days, is the following schedule going to be the most ideal? We will most likely skip lake Elsinore on Wednesday, we’ve only rode SoCal once before. Last year, lake Elsinore was 100% clay, it’s awesome for an hour, but too slick early and too dry late. Beautiful facility and plenty of tracks, but the conditions are not our favorite, the main track needs some sand, a ton of sand!

Mon - fox raceway 9-2
Tues - fox raceway 9-2
Wed - cahulla 9-3
Thurs - glen helen 8-8

Elsinore has had dirt imported and sand and it ever lasts. Pretty sure the city won’t let them bring in any foreign soil anymore either. Sucks because If you go straight along the airport instead of turning into the track there’s an unreal sand track back there that’s pretty decent year round. A lot of the enduro guys based out of the area ride it. My cousin comes down from washougal every winter and runs the exact schedule you do, dialed every time. Good move staying away from Elsinore as the weekday prep is pretty bad when supercross comes around and the track builders work on that all week.

Not really any other options than what you have. If you have energy on Wednesday, Perris is open from 4-9pm.

It's a tighter track, more like Fox Vet but some bigger jumps. Ride under the lights. They have done a ton of work to it the facility last few months and dirt is VERY good when prepped right.

Why do California tracks close so early on weekdays? Does no one work?

Perris is open two nights a week to ride at from 4-9. Elsinore opens the vet from 2-sunset during the summer. GH is open allll day during the summer on Thursday, you’re a bold man to tackle GH at 4pm on a Thursday though. Main reason i would say because it’s 100+ Degrees after 10am all summer long and anyone riding during the weeks is racing on Saturday or going to Loretta’s, and out of there by 11. Then comes fall and it’s dark at 5pm till it gets hot again and Perris is the only track with lights. So for us down here who work it’s hard to ride during the week year round. Would be pointless for tracks to stay open all day when 3 or 4 guys show up after 11. Also dam hard to justify loading up the bike after working in the heat all day and going to put in more work in the heat.

It’s possible. It’s technically a bird sanctuary and there’s a walking path that runs along it. I’ve never gotten a ticket and the typical Elsinore people on clapped 426’s ride down there all the time. Have also seen top worcs dudes put in 2 hour motos down there and no one bats an eye. Can’t park down there though have to ride in from rome hill or park in the business park.
