Hey Guys!
Iam looking to replace my OEM fork guards on my 1994 YZ125 with CR Honda style forkguards- to mount my brakeline on front like the newer bikes..
I'm about 80% sure you can get stock fork sliders from a 1996-2001 YZ125 to work. (Check to make sure the bolt holes are the same, but I think they are.) You would need to modify the two plastic hooks at the top by removing the bottom one completely, and drilling the other one (the top one) to accept the bolts from the metal clamp at the bottom of your fork. I did this mod to my '97 so I could run a CR-style brake line.
Sounds good- I don't have a metal clamp on bottom of my fork but I should be able to make something up.
I'll try and find a 1997 and see if forks are same at bottom.
Thanks!!
This is one half of the clamp they used on the 1996 and later YZs. You can use it flat against the fork slider, or use both halves and "pinch" the brake hose between them, the way the clamp was designed.
