Has anyone had issues with the communication controller on these bikes?

I got to the track today, started the bike and let it idle to warm up while i got ready. Got on, rode to the track entry and went to rev the bike and it just back fired and spluttered. Went back to the pits and went to hook up the power tuner app but my phone couldn't find the ecu. I unplugged the ecu, plugged it back in and then my phone connected to it. I started the bike and the ecu disconnected from the app again. The bike also ran like crap as soon as i tried revving it again

I found another guy in the pits with the same bike and borrowed his communication controller. Plugged it in, turned the bike on and it revved up perfectly.

I can order another ecu but I'm wondering if there could be something in the electrical system that would cause the ecu to play up. Bike is stock, 37.5 hours, only thing I've done is disconnect the launch control and map switch and used electrical tape to cover up the plugs.

I just don't want to connect a new communication controller and have that one die too

The local Yami dealer said not to unplug the LControl and Mapping connectors….said it could cause problems.

I removed the LC connector/button from my YZ450F 2020 and it never caused any issues in the 50 hours I rode it.

I only unplugged those when they started having issues. I called my mechanic and he put me on to another guy who has seen this happen a few times.
A new comm module from Yamaha was $945, I bought a vortex instead, problem solved
