Another thing people don't realize is that it's actually pretty important to generate the emissions OUTSIDE where people live and commute. Power plants generate those emissions in more remote areas where less people breathe. Then there's a chance for the emissions to dissipate before reaching large populations. It results in less health issues and cases of asthma.

Let the market decide what's the best for them, and if EV is seen as being a better product for a better price, then the market will see that, and move to it. And if you think the reasoning is for environmental reasons, you haven't been to India, China, Russia or most middle east countries. They give 0 F's when it comes to the environment. Allow these companies to make/sale both, and see what their sales numbers say, then make a decision on what's better to sale. It's really that simple.

Saying China doesn't care about the environment is inherently wrong, although they do produce a devastating amount of pollution.

China does not give a shit about the environment. China exceeds US CO2 emissions by over double every year. That doesn't even begin to mention the amount of trash and other stuff they dump into the ocean. Explore what they do to the environment in other countries like Africa, and the story gets even worse. By the way, China has over 1100 coal fired powerplants (over 4.5x what the US has), and they're building more. Don't be delusional.
