I am restoring the bike that Warren raced i believe in 1976 at two nationals that year. I am in need of any type of photo's of the bike or him at the races with it. He raced it in place of the Type 2 that year because of mechanicals with the Type 2. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Check 1976 Marty Smith bikes too, I don't remember Mugen stuff on them until 1977 when Steve Wise raced a Mugen top end on his private CR125M. When we were at the 1976 125cc National at Polka Dots Raceway (pure deep sand track) in Midland Michigan (from Colorado) Marty Smith and Warren also were on tossed together "anti claim" FMF/HRC Elsinore's with gas Girling shocks, Emler pipes, etc, maybe cycle news archives can help your build as well. Have fun...every man should have a CR125M elsinore in my book, I do.

Your thinking of 1977. Warren raced a complete Mugen 125 at Hangtown because of issues with the RC 125. It was only raced once and wasn't a Mugen kitted stocker like Steve Wise rode. In 76 Warren was a FMF rider not factory. Can you post pictures what you have?

Warren is quite active on Facebook and often posts photos of his old bikes and races. Try hitting him up- he's got great recall and is usually very engaged and helpful with his old fans and old fans of the sport.

Guys,
I believe it was 1977 when this bike was raced not 1976. I talked with Warren a few years back about this bike and at one point i had 3 different pictures of it at the track. He remembers it well and when he raced it. But, lost the phone number in an old phone and between computer changes somehow lost the photos. I have confirmed the frame i have is one of two built at the time, Confirmed by Honda team people as well as Warren. So, i am not concerned about the authenticity of the frame, as i also know its path from Honda to my hands. As in all of these builds it gets down to the details of the bike and that is where i need the photos. Much of the bike is hand built and i am building all the custom parts now, but as a collector i want the details to be real to the bike. I believe Warren sent me one of the pictures i once had and the other two came from a close friend.

So, still looking for helpSmile

This looks like a great bike, but it is not what Warren raced in 1977 for the two or three nationals. This is a stock frame with aftermarket stuff, great bike built one similar to this one years ago. The one i am building has an HRC frame and swingarm so most of the parts are hand made including the airbox. It looks a lot like the Type II from this period but with a Mugen motor and pipe. Same motor as in this bike.

Still looking for photos of the bike at one of the nationals. Thanks

Find pictures of the 1976 Mid-Ohio 125GP, one of the euros was racing a factory Honda with a mugen CR125M engine and was disappointed that HRC didn't give him a full on type ll as promised. I have a magazine somewhere with pictures of the bike, and a short back story.
