Stalling/low end throttle response issues on 2009 CRF450R

We tested our throttle body modification Saturday at REM. Our test rider Den McAdam was going to ride in the pits then bring the bike back for remapping. He went over to the larger lower pit with virtually no one in it (it was close to 100 degrees) made a few slow corners then dialed it on several times.



He came back to our pits but proceeded directly on to the track and put in some hot laps. Den came back in and said "this exceeded my expectations!" and was very impressed. Bike is SMOOTH off the bottom, no stalling, and we have the idle turned down low. BTW, I rode a friend of mine's bike after he rode Den's bike and he said "oh my bike is smooth too!" After I rode his bike I noticed the idle was extremely high. When I asked him what was up he said "oh I have it like this so it doesn't stall." To each his own but to me it is a little disconcerting to have the idle set so high that the bike starts moving as soon as you let the clutch out without any throttle.



We have a one day turn around and already have a race team rider sending us his practice bike throttle body.

We did more testing this weekend at REM and this time on another 2009 CRF450R. We had riders of all skill levels test and all of them could feel the improvement.



So far we have modified four bikes and have our fifth throttle body on its way to be reworked and the race team rider will be testing it on his practice bike on Tuesday August 4th.



Additionally we have received our first dealer inquiry out of Northern CA.

Turnaround right now is 24 hours. We just completed our first magazine product evaluation and hope to do more in the near future. We've heard comments like "everyone should have this" "this exceeded my expectations" and "I'm very impressed" so far. I am confident you'll be stoked after you install the re-engineered throttle body.

NOTE:

1) Please make sure your bike is clean before removing throttle body. Cleanliness is next to Godliness when dealing with EFI.

2) After you detach throttle cables don't mess around with the butterfly. Some folks want to check out the operation of the butterfly but you don't want to let the butterfly slam shut as this could damage the TPS which is the acronym for throttle position sensor. Just pull the cables off, put the throttle body in a plastic bag, and ship it off to Injectioneering.

3) Let me know how you would like the throttle body shipped back. I am a fan of USPS Priority as this is around 12 to 14 bucks including tracking, delivery confirmation, and insurance for two day delivery including Saturdays since this is the postal service but we can ship it back to you however you like.

Look forward to your feedback on the throttle body re engineering. We're up to the 'teens now for number of throttle bodies and so far everyone likes it.

BTW, I had to be persistent to get one of my Rock's Racing Services riders to let us massage his throttle body and man is he ever glad I didn't give up on him. I will find his e mail and post it later.
