Claiming rule changes?

“Any rider deemed by the AMA to be complicit in
circumventing the claiming rule (i.e. placing a claim with
the intent of returning the motorcycle to the original owner), will be subject to a 1-year suspension of competition privileges.”

Seems like the rule change should be “Any person”. From any of the interviews..there was no “rider” circumventing any rules. But if this was person..than the trainer, Yamaha rep, sponsor potentially others would have broke the rule. But since it says rider, no rules were broken by their involvement. That should be what mxsports and ama should be reconsidering!

The i.e. part is just an example of one way to circumvent the rules..not the only way one can circumvent the rules.
