Raced one at Unadilla Rewind this past weekend. Love the bike but looking for help. I felt like there is a huge gap between 2nd and 3rd especially on the big hills. Thinking about a big bore kit. Anyone have any experience with one on this bike or any suggestions outside of gearing? It is stock outside of a FMF pipe/silencer. What is the hot jetting spec? Planning on racing the ACR event at Broome Tioga in October and want to get it dialed in.

I know you specifically asked for something outside of gearing, but do like MXA and add a tooth to the rear first. Use 3rd more often that way, and you won't feel the gap as much. If that doesn't work, you're only out a few bucks.

Suzukis have a tendency to be rich all over from the factory. Try leaning the jetting out as well. (Main, clip position AND pilot! Obviously, do all this in stages.)

How is this? I remember Lorocco stating he was getting pulled by satellite Hondas up Broome Tiogas hills in 96-97?

I have a 50T on the rear and both ends have been revalved. I am looking for more and was hoping maybe someone had experience with a big bore kit or maybe some motor work that could give me feedback.

I raced both a 96 and 97. They both started out with PC cylinder and head work. If I remember correctly they were like most 250 suzuki's back then, they responded well to a .030 slide cut I believe. Was racing 40+ then with lots of open bikes in the field and was always starting near or at the front. Won the district both years on those bikes. Did have to change the gearbox oil every week because of the aluminum clutch plates, at least on the 96 for sure.
