VITALMX asked and Polar delivered

Hello MX community, Just a fyi, and this has been asked, sorry for a delayed answer. Within your MX sports profile, change auto lap to location-based. The location used for taking laps is where you start the recording, so you can be in pre training mode, where you see HR and GPS are locked in, but not recording the session. Remember, I do not ride, but where ever you roll onto the track, find a spot you pass, like start/finish and then press the middle button to start recording. Hope this works out for you who have a Polar that allows this feature, see the screen grab. Pacer Pro and a H9 is a good bang for the buck or M2 if available, is a solid package. The Pacer Pro is very bright and light for 24/7 use.

Hi Wayne, I am in my 30's and want to get in a little better shape. I can still run a 5k but its not pretty and certainly won't set any records. I really enjoy mountain biking and try to get out at least 2 to 3 times a month between work and family obligations. I would like to track my heart rate and zones while I mountain bike since this is the activity I am most passionate about and want to improve on the most. I will run on the elliptical, but I find it hard to get motivated to do that in the warm seasons. It looks like the Ignite 2 may be a good starter fitness/ smart watch to get me motivated to exercise more.

I don't ride motocross or do woods riding loops too often anymore (1 or 2 times a year), but I think it is very cool that Polar put the motocross exercise in the watch, and seeing this and how you support the Pulp Show, I am really looking at the Polar brand watches vs. Garmin or Apple.

Could you help guide me to a good watch for my lifestyle? The Apple Series 7 was my max budget i really was comfortable going to, which is just over $300.

All other vital members, please offer your input as well!

Thank you, Rob

Thank you for the kind words and details. I think a great bundle is the new Polar Pacer and the H9 transmitter. All of the watches provide optical heart rate (OHR) but HR off the chest provides instant hr, good for intervals where OHR will have a slight lag. Riding anything with a tight grip impacts the blood flow for the OHR sensors to be as accurate. Start with the Pacer, the Pacer Pro has an altimeter, which you might be able to live without. You can start with the Pacer and no H9 for now and see if your activities migh t need a chest transmitter.

Wow fast response! Thank you for the feedback.

Does the Pacer and Pacer Pro offer some of the same built in features as the Ignite 2, such as learning your body and activity, then help guide a personal daily workout?

Once again, thank you, and I will look into the Pacer and HR monitor. I hope to be buying a watch (or bundle) soon!

My .02, I would go with the Pacer or Pacer Pro because of the brighter display. I had a Vantage M and ended up returning it due to the dim display. I also use mine primarily for mountain biking, and with sunglasses on I could only barely make out the data on the watch if I held it up to my face. I was told by Polar to upgrade to the Grit X for a brighter display, but that might be out of your price range.

@kxfracer108 The answer is yes. The Ignite2 is 100% touch screen, which is why we do not suggest it since gloves are worn, plus sweaty fingers makes it a challenge to navigate on the IG2.
@GrapeApe I know all about the display on the M, The Pacer Pro has a brighter display versus the Grit x or Grit X Pro.

Thanks for the feedback and sorry it has taken this long, but we did it, checkered flags are out!! Polar announced new sports profile, and prior to the announcement internally, I caught a peek and had to stick to the embargo LOL! Thank you for your support. Polar code FAMILY20 for a 20% discount, some restrictions apply. The top riders still use the transmitter, the H9 works great with a watch, the H10 can record a training session with no watch, just use the Polar Beat app.

Is this code not active anymore?
