2021 YZ450FX

Pros: Power, reliability, powertuner app, on the fly map changes, stability, handling.

Cons:I did revalve the suspension on this one, I just couldn't get the stock stuff working how I liked it (I didn't have to do that on my 2019 450FX), 450 weight/inertia (it just gets to be a lot in the single track sometimes...I may try a 250FX just to see how it feels for my next bike), fuel tank situation (its hard to get a larger capacity tank...and they look stupid).

2022 CRF450

This is my first modern 4 stroke. Just got the new suspension on, will be riding/racing it this coming weekend. Really the only thing I don’t like about this bike was the stock suspension so looking forward to getting some seat time with some solid suspension underneath me. Bike has a ton of power, ergonomics feel right at home, easy to work on. And has gotten me some great race results, I just need to get in better shape.

2003 CR250

Have owned this bike since 2008 when I was 15 years old. I’m 28 now. Never made the 4 stroke 250f switch as a teenager. I only love my wife and daughter more than I love this bike, was/is/will always be my baby. I could be homeless and still wouldn’t sell it lol. Amazing handling, all the power I could need and want at 6’3 215. Suspension works pretty well, was repsrung/revalved by JM Racing in Houston Tx. Bike has a Scalvini cone pipe, talon/excel wheel set, custom woody woodpecker graphics I had Throttle Jockey make for me. Basically a Carmichael themed build with a lot more black brought in.

Then last but not least my 2003 YZ125, JM racing built the motor for this one, 134, ported and polished cylinder, head cut, case matched, tumbled trans etc etc. blast to ride, I’m too heavy for it but something about being able to use every ounce of power a bike has to offer you is a ton of fun lol.

Suspension lacks the most on this bike, even resprung/revalved the KYBs on it just ain’t it. We bought a 2019 YZ125 front end for it that’s going on. looking forward to riding some KYB SSS with a proper front brake as well. Should be nice.

Dude, nevermind the bike!! What track is that? Love that red dirt! Primo. And if you're only 28 I sure hope that's not you with the pressure washer!! Woohoo

I got some fasstco flexx bars. While they helped a little it wasnt the "magic fix" I was hoping for.

That’s my pops washing my bike😂 for the red dirt, that would be Swan MX in Tyler Texas, about 1:15 from my door step. Beautiful track, GP style with a couple bigger jumps. Pretty well rounded track for anyone from beginner to Pro. It’s the oldest functioning dirtbike track in Texas. I love that place. I seem to get pretty good results everytime I race there too.

I’ve heard good things about those bars, I think those combined with the other “fixes” all together would really make a rather large difference I’d be happy with.

2022 KTM350SXF. After several 450’s, I will never go back. The 350 will get me over everything the 450 will. But just doesn’t wear me out. You have to rev it a little more. But not nearly like everyone suggests. Still run 90% of track in third gear, just like I did on 450’s. It is so fun. And I feel so much more in control. Especially later in the day when things would start getting sketchy on the 450’s. Only negative would be the AER forks. However, I did find acceptable settings. They’re much improved over the ones on my 19. I had a set of Cone Valves from the 19. So did eventually put them on the 22. They are definitely an improvement. But probably could have lived with the AER’s. With the exception of the slap down if I land front high. Other than that I ABSOLUTELY love this bike. And see no reason to go back to a 450.

Only real con is it seems like Showa takes a bit more finessing to really dial in compared to KYB.

Super comfortable and roomy bike though.
Any tips? Absolutely love my ‘21 450 with the exception of the forks. They seem very harsh especially on slap down type of landings. Mine are revalved for my weight/ability. Bike turns better then my RMZ, feels so light and the ergos are perfect.

I’ve got a few to play with.
2018 250sx.
Pro: braaap to weight ratio is high
Con: it’s a literal rocket that you’re holding onto.

2022 350SXF
Pro: light weight. Ride it like a 2 stroke and it rewards you.
Con: it makes fart noises.

What’s all done to your 03?
Mostly stock. I had the cylinder replated and a local guy rebuild the OEM carb.

21 250 SX-F Track bike. Awesome. Suspension by AEO. Hauls the mail (at least when there is a qualified rider on it... lol).
20 390 Adventure Dual Sport. Great for what it's designed for.
22 150 XC-W. Woods bike. Suspension by AEO. Absolutely fantastic in the woods. Light, flickable and just plain fun.

Pros: Ergos, power tuner app lets me tailor it to each track and different conditions, easiest bike to ride I’ve ever owned, feels like soaring above the mountain tops aboard a bald eagle whilst high on DMT accompanied by none other than Doug Dubach himself

Cons: too fat and out of shape to ride more than 3 hard laps at a time since I only get to ride about once a month now. Front brake seems mushy but that’s okay cuz I’m slow. Does not make cool two stroke noises

My trusty 2003 CR250r. I like a bike that takes skill to ride fast and cheap maintenance. 4strokes are boring and sound lame, outside of my Mom's old school 1997 XR200.... that bike kicked ass on the Norcal blue groove.

Cons: it’s loud, and I don’t get to ride it often.
