Picked up a 100 cheap that needed a rear wheel. After doing some looking around I decided to just put an entire YZ85 rearend on it. I have a JIG setup I use for the ttr125 frames so it worked great. Picked up a kx85 frontend and lowered the forks to match the ride height. Steepened the head angle. Built a weld in cradle. Took the peg brackets off and used some heavy duty ones welded on that use YZ pegs. 120 big bore kit. Cam. Ported head. FMF exhaust and 26 carb, and lightened flywheel.
Turned out sweet. Bike is quick and light. Why the big 4 doesn’t build a bike like this is a complete mystery.

I put a YZ80 front and rear end on a TTR125 and sold it…what regret I have now. Amazing job with this bike!

Sweet bike man! Any chance you could post some details and photos of what it takes to fit the YZ swingarm?

It’s a lot of work honestly. I really didn’t take any pics of it. Basically aligned the sprockets. Made spacers so the pivot area was a tight fit. Then I have a JIG of the YZ suspension I use for TTR frames that I used to build the linkage and shock mounts.

This thing is awesome- I love that the busted rear wheel was enough of an excuse to go all in.

What do you think about the XR platform vs. TTRs? I've always thought XRs run better in stock trim than TTRs.
