The kid is going to finish top 8 in the points assuming he stays healthy the rest of the way these last 3 rounds. That's very commendable to finish top 10 in the points, in the elite class of the highest level of SX sport. Honestly, I'm impressed. Consistency and avoiding injury = top 10 overall.

With the championship battles starting to become settled, there's still lots of interesting battles for where people finish overall in the points on the season.

There should be huge bonuses for top 10 in points.

He's just been improving at a really steady pace since he got on the 450. People will probably think this is a bit of a ludicrous opinion but I think if he keeps improving at the rate he is then in a few years we could see him as a legit factory guy contending for race wins

To me Heartranft getting 8th overall at seasons end is more exciting then a few of the factory guys getting top 5. He “shouldn’t” be top 10 so the fact that he is, is super impressive.

I would like to see him get a couple more years, maybe 2 then get to drop down to 250's maybe get some wins or a title build some confidence you can only get by winning and make another run at the 450's

No way. The dude is big. Like 6"1 and 190 pounds. He isn't racing a 250f again.
His best chance is to chip away.
When all the big dogs retire in 2-3 years. Try to be in a position where he can be beating guys moving up like colt and rj. And be a solid 5-8 guy with a full field. I doubt he will ever win or be in the position to. But if he can work his way up to the odd podium he should be content with his career

He is riding very well. Would love to see him with a good start so he can see that pace and get a bit of shine time, I feel he is the least talked about rider who is riding good.

Hearing his interviews he sounds still so intimidated by the class, and is finally realising his potential. Feels like he belongs. Very cool story, can only see him going up from here. Good on the team for supporting him.

I could see a club mx 450 effort being a great fit for him. No disrespect to the HEP boys.

Honestly, where he is , is where he is.

He is a mid pack rider , on a mid pack team, helped by the fact that half the field is out .

Good rider, but there are too many great riders in front of him .

A solid Pro though, think he has done well, on a bike that is as old as rocks.

The team that’s had a bunch of mechanicals back to back and isn’t factory supported is better than his team that’s a well run effort with way more backing?

I don’t know, did you think the same of Weston P? He worked his way into the JGR ride. I agree field is week at the moment, but no reason Brandon can’t do the same if he keeps chipping away.

People tend to forget that he pretty much crushed everyone at Red Bull Straight Rythm (I know - it's a one-off side show) on the TLD KTM a couple of years ago, so he's got skills. Just needs to keep stringing together races like he's doing, then solid seasons w/o injury. Not saying he's the next Tomac, but why couldn't he be fighting for top 5s and podiums on the right program? He's a cool kid....

Bikes, team, training at the one facility with fast riders to ride with. I’m sure he would benefit from a Yamaha’s engine, outdoors especially, being a bigger guy. He would be the Marquee rider on the team. Not that crazy.

I remember posting on here 'Pieck is worth every penny they are paying Barcia' back in the day , and that kinda sums it up.

Peick was a relative nobody( zero hype working guy) who grafted his way to a Pro career, off the back of a few great rides in the Nationals, i was a fan, and Hartranft is a similar type of guy., on a similar team.

These are the guys that need to be earning a living out of the sport, and should be paid as such.

WP had some great SX rides too, i dont think Hartranft is at that level yet, but anothergood outdoor season and he should be good to go again.. after all there is no Suzuki involvement from below, that is throwing guys at the 450 class, so he is safer than a guy at another manufacturer... nobody is queueing up to ride yellow.
