Hi,

I have an old 150 here with the Keihin carb.

It's been sat for a month without fuel in, only use ethanol free / synthetic, anyway, went to start it as we're going out tomorrow (hopefully) and as soon as I turn the fuel on it continuously leaks from the overflow hose, steadily and constantly, it just drained half a tank between me turning the fuel on and unchaining the bike, planning to potter round the yard to check it's good, by the time I grabbed some boots and got a drink 🤦

Guessing something carby is stuck, gonna crack it open, any pointers? Float makes sense in my uneducated head?

Your float needle is stuck. Take the carb off and remove the float bowl. Remove the float pin and the float/needle will drop out. Make sure to clean the float needle well and make sure the small spring loaded pin in the needle moves freely.

Since you already have the carb off, you should probably clean the pilot jet as well.

I’ve had that happen to my bike before. Few light taps on the outside of the float bowl fixed it.

Pull off the fuel line from the tank, blow some carb cleaner than compressed air through it. Works more often than not

I’ve heard this, also spray carb cleaner in that same hole were the fuel line connects to the carb.

Worked a treat gentlemen, thank you very much for the replies, worked the last 60 days straight so was not keen to miss a day out on the bikes 👍

The 350 was messing about at the same time (fine now, battery is getting tired) so was in panic mode haha.

Rebuilt the carb on the 150 not long ago and drained the bowl after it last came in but it clearly found some crud somewhere.

Enjoy your weekends guys!
