This thing looks nothing like a KXF -and is ugly as f**k, if you ask me.

The TX race kit looks way better IMO.

Jon Primo did.
It's the cleanest and -very- expensive way to do it.
With all the plastics plus an airbox and airboot, a subframe, a gas tank and a few billet adaptation parts...

Do you think I could get the air boot subframe a gas tank and air box for 600$ not including the plastics and conversion kit???

I did it the “expensive” way and $600 isn’t gonna cover it unfortunately

Conversion kit - $300
Acerbis plastics - $150
Bolt kit - $17
Airbox - $165 (used)
OEM Gas tank + cap - $400
Subframe - $265
Acerbis XSeat - $135 (even more for OEM)
Graphics - $200ish

For the experience, it was fun. My girlfriend and I broke up before Christmas so I returned her MacBook and bought parts Grinning

I wouldn’t recommend frankensteining a bike tho. The TX came out a week after I finished mine

Keep in mind that there’s no hardware included with that conversion kit, that may be annoying figuring out what you need. You’ll also need bolts and a sealant for merging the new airbox with the old fitting to the carb. $86 isn’t bad though

If you order a tank, you’ll need the fuel pump gasket as well. Just something to keep in mind as this set me back a few days. Make sure you get the 250 shrouds too if you end up doing it Grinning

I got my parts in 2018, so there wasn’t a lot of used stuff floating around. You might have better luck finding deals than I did at the time

The stock bike looks ten times better than the Polisport kit.

If you want a "modern looking" KX, the TX race is the best way to go IMO, even though the fit and finish won't be as good as going "full 250 KX" with the adapting kit.
Anyhow, plastics really are the icing on the cake as far as rebuilding and upgrading a KX goes...
Modern suspension, brakes, engine work are, as usual, waaaay more important.

Yeah, I still have it but it’s in storage now. I think I’m going to make it a man-cave piece

First and only really good one I’ve seen so far:

It’s decent but I dislike the polisport restyle kit
