I recently picked up a 95 rm125 and have been having some clutch issue. When I pull the clutch in and try to spin the rear wheel it is hard like it would be with the clutch engaged but if I start the bike and put it in gear with no clutch it won't stall and won't accelerate, just rev up like it is neutral. Has new Wiseco basket and prox hub with new friction plates (still has old steel plates because they looked okay). Pretty confused with this one and need some help.

Did it work before you replaced the clutch parts?

Get a service manual and pull the clutch cover off, start disassembling until you find the problem…bought it without test ride?

I've pulled the whole assembly apart 3 times, I did find a washer behind the thrust bearing on the pressure plate that was causing the rod that connects with the clutch cover to bind up tight but removing this did not work. Everything is there and put together correctly even the clutch pack thickness is in spec. Bike was bought as a project not running.

Maybe time to split the cases and inspect the transmission, shift forks….

I believe I remember the pressure plates on those bikes wear out. Probably worn where the piece goes in the middle and pulls the pp out. I've found some on other bikes to flex alot so it never disengage fully and then won't hold enough pressure on to the clutch pack to fully engage.

Sounds exactly like what's happening here, that would explain why there was a random washer in there.
