Jim,

You should know that there are two parking lots for campers. Parking lot A is for families and mostly used by those of us who are there to watch the pro's while also racing amateur day. I did not see nor hear of this kind of carnage in our parking lot and Redbud had lots of security patrolling our parking lot.

Parking lot B is where these pics were taken and is where I would have been 20 years ago. You had to have a special band to get in there and I would say that the Redbud planners kept those fun folks out of the general public's eye.

P.S. Michigan is not out East it is considered the Midwest and yes our Rednecks can hang with your Okie rednecks anytime. LOL

I was at Red Bud Wed-Sun and never seen any of this type of behavior. Red Bud does a great job literally locking the party crowd in a seperate section (lot Cool . No one under 18 (even with a parent) is even allowed near the fenced off section. The kids are safe, the parents are safe, the amature racers are safe and the party crowd gets to have their fun. Nothing wrong with that.

What you looking at is no frat party and frat parties normally take place in a frat house.. I have no problems with a good party but there is a time and a place and from what I am seeing here it looks like a bunch of drunken hillbillies that would likely run other paying spectators off. I don’t have to tell you since you ran this series for many years but once the series heads back east you are more likely to see groups like the ones in these photos. Nothing wrong with camping out, doing a little partying but this is taking it a little far for those in attendance with small children. If this sport is ever going to grow it's going to have to be more family friendly than what you are seeing in these photos.

I am not a big fan of NASCAR but if you have ever been to a race you will find that most of those in attendance are far from being drunken rednecks. These campgrounds you talk about, are they in the on the infield with all the $750,000 motor homes?
If partying kills motocross,
I hope it dies.

At Unadilla the am pits are a long ways from the pro pits so It really doesnt effect the proffesional appearance. The am pits are not the greatest if you have your kids with you but I think they allow families to park near the road now instead of in the middle of the "festivities"

if you truly want to see the race Red-Bud kind of sucks! You have to walk to several different spots and can only see sections, and from what people are saying BANNERS are blocking those. Red-Bud seperates the party from the families.

We have a party cove on our lake and people are always bitching about kids. The easy answer is there are 23 other coves on that lake take the little ones to one of those. Keep the party and the family just seperate the 2.

and oh yeah BOOBIE picsw already....WE know your holdin'!

I was at Red Bud from Thursday until Sunday and I can tell you I never saw any of the crazy parties in the AM pits or general parking area.

Last year it got a little crazy up around the supercross track on Saturday night.

About the closest thing I saw was the guy named "fuzzy" that Freddy the announcer was coaxing into going down the hill below the tower up at the big track on Friday.

They got to hauling ass and crashed about as hard as you can crash a red ryder. I think Fuzzy got a broken nose and the other guy cut his foot.

They were back out watching the racing over at the supercross track later that night.

I don't think the wagon survived.

The wagon lost a wheel on take off at the night track on saturday night....Funny stuff. Complete with evil knievel helmet and the passenger had on a viking horn helmet.

The family camping section was very calm this year. I slept in a tent this year and slept like a baby each night.

All the websites have great pictures of the racing from Red Bud, but that is only half the event. The night life in Red Bud is as incredible as any on track action. Here are some action shots that I took.

I hope you enjoyed our good time!

This was the 21 and over section of the campgrounds, seriously, they really do that at Red Bud!

People like this are not the market that large corporate sponsors are looking for.

I don't believe NASCAR is lacking corporate sponsors and we all know what a fine bunch of outstanding citizens they are at the track!

Yup.....they actually took two security quads that night......the second one was burned near my pits. Last year they got another one....nothing left but charred handlebars and frame. '06 was the year the bitch with the attitude was riding around giving people shit for everything she could for two days. You just knew she was new and had no idea what Sat. night was gonna be. Im sure she's in a mental institution now.Cool
That's right! That was her quad they took! She was really annoying. I remember thinking she was in trouble when she tried to shut down the 4-10 year old bicycle races right past vendors lane that everyone was having a great time hanging out at because bikes weren't allowed in the pits. haha It was right after dark when she came back for "Truck Bed Tire burnouts" when the quad took its leap. LOL Was it 05 when they burned down the am announcers tower?

This kind of craziness almost shut down Spring Creek MX (Millville) some years ago. I think the numerous burning tires and plastic porta-potties were the last straw. The state troopers had enough. Now, you can't even have a camp fire or a beer. Partyers ruined it for everyone.

I admit, sometimes it was super fun, but it's the one's that simply insist on acting like drunken chimps that eventually get the whole thing shut down.
