I have an 07 Suzuki rm 125 i was looking to do the mods to the drain plug and splash guard also loop the overflow hose, does anyone know if this helps on other bikes with the tmx performance and make it slightly less fussy.
Hopefully someone with more carb knowledge than i have can help with this.

Basically drill the holes in the drain plug to allow the fuel to get to the main jet easier there's already holes in the bole not sure why they didn't put them in the plug, also drill bigger holes in the plash guard, and loop the overflow hose.

Interesting, so just a few holes and a looped carb line? Don't understand how any of those changes would make the tmx a easier carb. Definitely interested to hear what it does if you do decide to do it though

Yeah thats my question but apparently all the ktm guys are doing it and it works well but they are also changing the notch their carb slides.
Dont think im going to chance it unless someone knows it works on other bikes.

All of that makes sense except for looping the overflow hose. And notching the slide is sketchy I definitely wouldn’t do that. I currently have my cyl, head, and carb at tmr getting done up by Tom Morgan. Next time I talk to him ill ask him and see if he has anything to say about it. He will likely just say he doesn’t have experience with It

That would be great if you could would be interested to hear his opinion if he has one, the looping the hose aapparently is something to do with making it harder to spill fuel from the bowl it's probably more for the enduro stuff but i figured it cant hurt and it's easy to do or undo if not.

It wouldn’t hesitate to do the same on another brand bike. It should clean it up And help it run better

I mean the tmx 38 doesn’t change much between brands so I’d say it should help with any later model tmx’s? I’ll try to remember to ask Tom about it. Motor should be done in the next 2 ish weeks. I don’t think I’ll personally do it as I have no issues with jetting plus Tom is giving me a shitload of jetting specs but definitely would be interested to hear if it does anything

Drilling the splash guard and drain bolt have been around for a long time. It works fine on any bike. If you are an MX guy I wouldn't bother with the tube or drain line thing. It's more about improving fuel mileage for Enduro.
