An interesting bike came up for sale and thinking about picking it up. RM-Z 450 with ohlins front and rear with ohlins clamps. DLC stantions. Bike looks surprisingly not hammered and has a bunch of nice stuff on it. Clearly the guy who’s selling it didn’t build it.

Wondering about people’s experience running it for moto...my suspension guy didn’t seemed thrilled about the idea and said they can be hard to set up…but I remember reading a thread on here where someone was talking about how much they loved their ohlins equipped Suzuki. Hard to beat the Showa spring forks that came on it..honestly trying to talk myself out of buying it but I think it would be fun to try..

I have the fork inserts and shock on a 2020 Kx and it is the best suspension that i have ever used. I was coming off a couple rmz450s. I personally didn't find it hard to get set up at all.

Is it a former Hep bike?

Cool if it's 7duece dueces old bike, not so much if it's A-Rays old bike.

It’s a 2012 so I don’t think so. Has a “Hinson super moto clutch” he says..but maybe he just typed in Hinson and the first thing that popped up was a slipper. From the ad it doesn’t sound like he knows what he’s talking about.

I believe that's an old MCR Alessi bike.

Thanks. Was trying to remember where I’d seen ohlins on an rmz before. I’m surprised mcr sold it with the suspension on it. It’s cheap enough I could rebuild the motor and still be in it for a few grand less than what people are trying to get for a decent 450 right now.

You could drop a grenade on those 2012 RMZ450's and they would still run. Those bikes are super reliable from my experiences. I would take the suspension as a positive and make them work.

He sold it already..for 3k$ I figured it wouldn’t last long

Think it was alessi’s monster cup bike. Only thing different was it had black clamps. His other bikes had mcr on the Hinson cover and didn’t have the red wc brake resi cap.

I had a ‘13 and once I got the fork working it was a really good bike. Think I got it for 8k$ otd back then and Suzuki was doing 0% financing and they gave you a yosh pipe with it

Even here in Sweden people are going for Showa or Kyb A kit’s or WP instead of Öhlins. And there is a reason for it.
