Throttle limiter for 2016 CRF250x ?

I have a 14 yr old novice rider, he's about 5'10 155 and he got bored with a crf230. I just picked up a new to me 16 Crf250x and I'd like to restrict the throttle for a few hours until he has the feel for the bike. Any ideas?

There isn’t any throttle stop commercially available that I know of. One easy way to limit power is to tape off the airbox. Will not hurt the engine and is easily reversed. First real MX Bike! Remember mine, 76 RM 125. Kicked my butt.
