When does the kid get a shot at a factory fill in?

The kid is running top 15 in 450's with the most stacked class ever.. Had a great SX season, damn near got 4th at Daytona(250 class on a private bike) THIS YEAR... He has had a great season of progress..

He's kicking ass for sure and even ended last year on a very high note. He's also got some sick style at Red Bud so I'm jealous of everyone going there this year Cool

He could be top 10 but ML512 never sent him his motor mounts.

I would be willing to argue his results wouldn't change much at all if he was placed on a factory 450.

The 450 he's on is really good, and ML's relationships with the team sponsors like Enzo would ensure they are getting all the testing time they would need.

He is really exceeding my expectations this year.

I mean for a fill 250 ride... The kid hasnt got a shot on a 250... I think he has what it takes to be top 5-8 every week with a Factory program and bike..

Only reason i think he doesnt ride 250's outdoors is due to Engine Costs... Somebody like Redbull KTM can take a shot on a older kid.. Do no Salary, all Bonus for his try out.. and if he does well sign him?

He solid performer for sure.. maybe a slow burner like Weston Peick , but i dont think the ride he has is worth throwing away for a fill in .. but he isnt Factory material... yet.

A solid outdoors this season will be good for him.... i kinda expected the same thing out of Henry Miller, but he has had too many injuries and poor races after doing well in 2019.

i think Coty has more upside in Supercross.. hes only raced a handful of races.. in 2020, he could not get through the whoops to save his life.. but 2021 showed major improvements.. he ran top 4 at Daytona for 10-12 mins....ended up finishing 9th cause he got tired.. but with a full program, i think he could pull it together for top 5-8 every race in the 250 class.

Has Henry Miller ever done that? im a big fan of Henry, the dude can ride Outdoors for sure, but his indoor results are why he hasnt gotten any help i would imagine??

Factory Husky should be calling Coty or Freddie Noren to finish the Season in my opinion.

Dean-o is the only rider under the tent and he has Epstein Barr and had a wicked crash at Red Bud..

You have to look at several of those guys. Coty is local to me and is awesome on a bike and great personality. Has a great program w his team and mechanic (who could qualify any given day). But look last year at Justin Rodbell. Majority of his races are top 13’s outdoors and not a call for support. And he is on more of a production bike than any. You are either born into it or forgotten anymore. I believe the factories need guys like Coty and Justin to bring racing back to its roots.

John Short would have been a great fill in. Top 10 couple of years ago. I'm guessing rockstar Husky is under no pressure to put bikes on the track.

He's staying in shape doing some local short course mtb races:

I would imagine it would be hard to take him off ml’s team because of sponsor obligations. Wouldn’t be as simple as husky plucking him away for a fill in ride. Im sure ML would want what’s best for him, but would be kinda tricky.

Coty is doing great on a pretty well-adjusted bike. Why would he switch mid-season and break a contracted ride?

Someone should call him up to a factory 250F ride for supercross next year, that's for sure. I could see him breaking out on a Star Yamaha or Factory Honda.

What about the BAR X Factory Suzuki program?

but i do believe we would see alot better out of him on a factory program, not just the bike.. The resources on a factory team are much better and understand training at the highest level...

I think this was him in practice. 72 on a CRF 450 with fxr gear. Badass doing the leap on a non-factory bike.

Exactly - this is why the amateur program/system is broken but no one is going to change it since it's making those that could change it major $$. All that "factory" amateur support should be going to contingency programs and helping 2nd and 3rd tier riders fill the gate. Instead we have "amateurs" making over $250k a year to run 6 races and never show up at a local race. And decent riders that can make the mains/motos give it a goal for a year or two and then hang it up because it's a losing money situation. Crazy...

Honda and or ML should get Coty riding and training with the Lawerence brothers and or Kenny so he gets even faster then put him on the factory Honda 250 in SX next season

I think the only people really making money are the amateur riders. Everyone else might as well light there money on fire.
