Ebay is a great resource for new and used parts.

The only real option is eBay. However, plan to get the wrong identified parts or non-working parts about 20% of the time.

Sounds horrible!

I've had different Euro twinshockers, and there's always a guy somewhere in some country that has specialised in them. I guess this is not true for the YZs unfortunately.

Not true--- there are a ton of Vintage Yamaha guys in the States. I can think of 4 or 5 guys off the top of my head that have treasure troves full of YZ stuff. Your best bet is to join Marks Vintage swapmeet forum and put your "parts wanted" type of ad on there. Unbelievably, I have had a 100% success rate in finding whatever parts I was searching for---and believe me I have looked for some crazy rare and obscure pieces doing some of my trick builds .I've posted some of those on here in the past and just recently , to give you an idea of what's available out there to scare up.

Also-- keep in mind Speed and Sport Yamaha in Bloomsburg , Pa . if you're looking for NLA OEM parts. They have several million dollars of NOS Yamaha parts in stock. I've had some success with them for those type of pieces as well.

Can you refer me to any EU sources? Shipping and toll is going to double the price on most items.

The good think about the YZ is a lot of parts are shared between years and the IT models.

Buy cheap 81 It250. Most of parts are same. Run the 6 speed transmission, with yz head, cylinder, pipe.
