What are the most prestigious classes in superbike racing?

I know motoGP is the top tier, followed by World Superbike, and then I would say moto2. But what about after that? What would you say the top 10 classes are? Where do MotoAmerica Superbike, WorldSSP, moto3, British Superbike, MotoAmerica SuperSport all fall?

Highly subjective...

My opinion:

A-Tier - you are the hero of the moto people, women wanna be you, men want to sleep with you
MotoGP
World SBK
British SBK

B-Tier - you are really good but there is chip on your shoulder if you are not aiming on A-tier
Moto2
World SSP600
CEV Moto2
MotoAmerica SBK

C-Tier - If you are over 25 yo in this series i have a bad news for your WCH-ego

Road racing is totally different beast...

I don't get it how Dunlop & Hickman are able to ride road racing and BSB altogether... wtf? That's like sending Herlings from Lommel to Erzberg rodeo...

BSB trumps all other domestic championships for superbikes. The Spanish CEV championship is super competitive for Moto 3, not sure whether they do Moto 2 as well.

yep... CEV Moto2 is for last couple years the European championship of Moto2 aswell. The British are world within a world when it comes to all forms of motorcycle racing (maybe not in MX that much but road racing, circuit racing, speedway, omg...). Their superbike championship is leagues above other national championships. The fact that it is broadcasted by Eurosport TV is proof of it. If you win BSB and not get into world championship it is still mighty impressive.

I forgot to add Asian SBK - Broc Parkes rode that one and won if i'm not mistaken - and added other that Mav mentioned, all marked in italic.

My updated tier list:

My method for this tear-list is mostly the likelyhood the title of in one tier gives you oportunity to move in upper tier.
For example if Alan Techer wins FFM SBK (C-tier) in Erance will he be hot stuff for teams in WSBK or MotoGP (A-Tier)? No, but he might score decent CEV Moto2 or bottom-feeder World Moto2 ride. The order within the Tier represents the prestige of the class relative to others in that tier.
Also I - being humble european - am not familiar with all the overseas series so i mostly put them in order by the ammount of international prospects they were able to produce in last few decades for the world stage (and the Binder Brothers are freaks of nature so it doesn't bump ZA into the stratosphere, just to be clear), sorry in advance. (for example CSBK and Brazil in D-tier because no canadian made it to WSSP600, Meikon Kawakami for Brazil is on the way up but we will see - we need another Alex Barros).

Damn i might have a tier-list problem... I should start my tier-list YT channel. Pinch I should have made separate tier-lists for bikes under 500 ccm, under 800 ccm and over 800 ccm... damn and what about endurace racing? wtf... help, i am stuck in this rabbithole.

I don’t think you can rate British sbk with the world sbk amd moto gp, but it’s probably with moto 2 for me , and a step above the rest of your b tier , I would put moto 3 above world super sport or at least in that tier

I respect that. I know of multiple guys who went to WSSP600 after Moto3. i can't remember of any coming the other way that's the reason for my ranking there.

Here is one of the reasons why i do put BSB on the same pedestal as WSBK & MotoGP. As said above it is all subjective

I came here to post a pic or vid of that! There was always awesome racing in BSB when I was able to watch it. Late '90s and early 2000s WSBK (Supersports and other classes) were unreal too! "Nitro Nori"!

Thanks guys! All great info. I've always heard BritishSBK was good, I just didn't know how good. My only exposure to it was when Hopper raced it. What is the story behind that pic? I'm spoiled because I live an hour away from Road America and spend all of Superbike weekend there.

That’s a picture of 6 times BSB champion Shane Byrne going over the mountain at Cadwell Park, that picture was probably taken during practice when the riders really launch it.
