Looking for a kyb clevis, 93mm long I believe
Gonna make a kxf to cr conversion for my kyb A-kit, and therefore looking for a clevis or a complete shaft assey for the 05-07 CR
I cant say for sure.. but i believe it will be easier to make it work with the short shock that you have.
The upper bearing is wider on the kxf shock so probably needs a mm of milling to get the right clearance, and the clevis is wider, but easy to shim. Dont know about how's the length of the kxf clevis are right or not for you, but should be quite close, maybe you can weld the holes and make new ones where they should be.. I have rotated the shock on my bike without spring and no issues

The Kawasaki shock body will work on the CR. The bearing is a little wider but if your CR frame has time on it chances are the shock will fit right in. If not a little work with a hand file would do the trick.
Side by side the the KXF and CR shock body is the same length with other slight differences. The problem is that the Kawi shaft and Clevis are shorter than the Honda shaft/Clevis. I’d say your best option would be to get a donor kyb shock from the 09-12 450 and go from there. Get the shaft coated etc...
It would be easier to get the kxf shock to work on a 02-04 CR than 05-07. Could always buy/make a custom linkage arm... shorter arm will make up some ground for the shorter shock but you can only go so far before you completely mess up the geometry of the linkage/shock etc..
My experience on this was with Showa A Kit kxf to CR so there could be some differences but same guidelines. All of my 02-08 factory/works kyb (Honda) shocks were a little longer than the Showa shocks which is a little strange to me.
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MX industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MX t-shirt.
