I decided to check off a bucket list item this year and race Daytona amateur sx, anybody else on here racing it or have raved it? I wanted to race 30b/c but was all sold out so I am on standby for an open spot but am signed up for the 30+ open class, question I have is there a qualifier to make the main in the 30 open class? If I don’t make the main which is quite possible I’ll be a little pissed off 🤣. Hope to see some vital members lined up next to me.
I originally was going to just do b/c. I've rode twice since 2019 when I rode 5 times and it was 2016 before that. B/c is one of few classes that take more entries than there are gates, therefore, there will be qualifiers and lcq. +30 I believe only takes enough to fill the gate which makes the heat race just for gate pick.
My wife said "what happens if you fall in the first turn in b/c and the same in the lcq. That would mean no main on Monday.
Thinking that way, I signed up for the regular plus 30 with the thought process that no matter what I should be racing a main on Monday. I'll likely get smoked in both, but like you, totally just a bucket list thing.
Good luck to you all

I would suggest you find a class to run at any of these events and then have a ball doing the event. These are life altering events to take part in and you may just find out that you are better than what you expected, if you go into them from the standpoint of looking to have fun and not how you think you will finish. Life is just too short to not do some of the bucket list items while you are young enough. Remember that once this day is over, you will never be able to do it again.
Go for it, enjoy it and by all means have fun!
