Hello everybody I have been working on a 03 rm125 and I recently rebuilt the whole motor (top and bottom end) when I went to go start it up for the first time after the rebuild it would not crank up. I checked the usual culprits (tried to bump start, have good blue spark, swapped plugs, timing marks line up on stator, did a compression test which tested at around 190 psi, clean the carb and all the jets) and still no luck. I noticed after I pulled the plug after attempting to start it that the plug still looked dry so I cleaned the carb again, but fuel still does not seem to be making it in the case or even in the reeds. I tried to just pour a tiny bit of gas straight in the cylinder through the spark plug hole to see if it would even fire, but still nothing... Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated because I cannot figure it out. Thanks.

Yes the fuel is making it into the float bowl it just doesn't make it into the engine it starts coming out the overflow tubes

Something is the problem there then. Float isn't closing the needle seat. Have you tried starting it holding the throttle wide open?

Yessir I have tried starting it with the throttle in like every position possible lol. The part that confuses me though is that I checked the needle and floats while I had it apart and it seemed to be seating fine and the floats moved freely.

Hit all the jets with carb cleaner and air and made sure that I could see through them and put a wire through them to make sure they are completely clear and then made sure there was no dirt or anything in the float bowl that would possibly cause the floats to stick

If fuel is running out
Does needle have a ring on rubber point and not sealing?
O ring on needle seat is bad and allowing the leak, need to replace
Oem has kit with both parts

I will give this one last try...
Your float needle is either not sealing or the float level is set too high.
I still don't understand the "dry plug & flooding" you posted earlier.
I also still think you your pilot jet is plugged up or the in carb fuel passages cast into the carb are clogged from dried fuel.
Did you do a carb soak cleaning?

You have been given very good info in this post and I don't see where any of it has been addressed.

Also for anybody wondering... I soaked the whole carb again and found out my crank was missing the keyway so I popped it out of the old crank and into the new one and she fired right up and now the plug is getting wet. Thanks to everybody that sent a response trying to help!

Go back and read again. "Dry spark Plug with fuel coming out the over flow..."

Your words not mine.

You ask for help and folks tried to do so, but you have not responded.
