Question about CCU unit (250 YZF 2021)

Hello guys, Merry Christmas to Everyone !

I’m rebuilding my bike after putting a GET ECU, FMF full exhaust and new plastics (the bike has 3 hours only one ride to break her in).

I’m wondering, should i put my CCU unit back ? Since there isn’t a OEM ECU anymore i can’t use the Yamaha power tuner App so why should i keep the CCU unit connected to my bike ?

Is there any inconveniences riding without the CCU connected ?

I’m just thinking it will avoid any more chances of electric issu and it will keep the thing new for the sale of the bike next year.

Thank you in advance for your help !

I have 6 hours on my 2020 and the idea of not being able to use/monitor using the Yamaha app is what keeps me from thinking about doing a GET or Vortex. But from what I understand you can run two maps at a time on the vortex and use the stock map switch?

I heard the GET holds 10 maps at a time?

Either way, with either I suppose you have to go back to an hour meter. I’m sure later models of those will retain the connectivity to that app, it only makes sense to update the lroduct when that part is figured out 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes the Yamaha Power App become useless and i confirm you have to go back to a hour metter (which i just installed). It’s not a problem for me since a i have two maps on the GET ECU developped by a well known tuner. That’s why i’m thinking about putting out the CCU unit, i think it is useless to keep it on the bike and can only brings problems now in my situation.

But i want to be sure first of course

Honestly I think unless someone answers quite confidently (and even if they do) it may be a good idea to ask the reputable tuner you had do the mapping. I would only feel confident after getting their opinion.

Other way around, GET holds two, there are 10 on the Vortex. As of right now the OEM map switch is not usable with the Vortex, you either have to use a screw driver or the Vortex switch to change maps. The GET comes with the switch and allows you to toggle between the two maps.
