I have been riding the aluminum frame Yamaha 2 strokes for most of my life. I've noticed that the upper shock bushing (I believe it is a heim joint or spherical bearing) develops play pretty quickly.
How often do you replace this bearing? Any tricks for keeping it running longer?
I used to replace my linkage/ shock bearings at least once a year because I ride in mud so frequently. Eventually learned that I could basically make them last forever if I used the black moly grease, but I am still having trouble with this upper mount. My 125 had almost no up and down play at rear wheel about 10 hours ago, now it is significant.

use OEM
I have come to the conclusion that the top shock bearing is a little underbuilt for purpose. Either that or Heim Joints kinda suck. My brother had a PDS 250sx, and while those heims were bigger, they still developed play at around the 50 hr mark.
