Helmets for Toddlers

I've got a 2.5 year old that is starting to get brave on his Stacyc and I think it's time to move from a bicycle helmet to a moto helmet. What helmets have you all tried on the kiddos? Good/bad experiences with specific brands? I'm not worried about spending some coin, just want to get one that functions and fits best.

My kids are runnin the fox youth helmets. I feel like they are too heavy for their heads though.

With weight being a pretty serious concern for a small child's neck, you might look into some of the "down-hill" MTB helmets for little kids. Some of'em are made with a lot of the tech our helmets are & they're nice and light. Like the TLD Stage, for example..

We used a bell full face bmx helmet on the stacyc and then a fox xs youth when she got a bit bigger. She's just 4 now.

My son is 4 and he wears a Bell Sanction BMX helmet. He has An mx helmet but it was to heavy for his head and when he crashed a few times and couldn’t get up I went back to the bell.

My 2 year old has a just1 fitment is awesome and is light so not putting to much pressure on his neck.

The TLD Stage is an Enduro helmet; basically the lightest and least-protective thing you can get which still passes the ECE downhill regulations. If we're talking about a "bike helmet as a light MX helmet," I'd go with their similarly excellent D3 or D4 downhill helmets. More protection.

When my son was 2 we got him the answer snx. It has been a good helmet and isn’t to heavy.he is 4 now and we are getting ready to replace it.

My daughter is 5 now but she got her first helmet at around 2.5. Fly helmets seemed to be the lightest and fit her well. She's in a medium youth now.

Id recommend trying on a few different ones in person. My kid has a huge head and had to go to an adult S at 4, Got a good deal on a LS2 subverter, but the shell size is so huge that it almost looks like spaceballs.

Probably would have went a different direction if I bought it in person. Had a cheap Fly youth helmet that was pretty nice honestly
