Have you recently done any work to it?

Just saw your other thread you started yesterday. Like someone else said, replace your main seals because it’s cheap insurance.
Next work on jetting. The 1998 carb sucked! I got so frustrated with mine that I replaced it with a carb from a 99.

My 96 had that problem, weak spark. Replaced the black box and cured it. Good luck

KR could totally be right, but even if a new box gets it running, clean the carb and replace the crank seal anyway..

Have you done a compression test on your bike? If compression is low it will be very hard to start cold, but easier to start when warm.
Leaking carb float needle can allow excess fuel to build up in the crank cavity when not running, making it hard to start when cold. Float level set too high will also cause this.
What color is the spark? Bright Blue, Yellow, Red, White or Orange?
Have you done a leak test? How long did it hold 6psi when cold? When hot?
Fresh fuel mix?
