I have a tumbler but the buffer and the pads do a better job and do it almost instantly. The buffet was $109 at Home Depot and the stand was Larousse &40 at Harbor Freight.

I am still at work on the bike. I decided to try my hand at zinc plating. Here is my formula for the solution. Quart of vinegar, quart of distilled water, 7 table spoons of sugar and epson salt for the plating solution. I bought two zinc anodes for $12. Then I took an old phone charger and put to clips on it to use as my power source. I have a copper pipe and I hang the parts from wire. I clip the negative to the pipe that hangs across the bucket. Here are some of the results:

Great job Brian. I never knew how simple it is to zinc plate.
It is always immensely satisfying to be able to stand back and know you did it all.
Congratulations on having basically a new Honda that you brought back.

I really appreciate your kind words. I have enjoyed working on this bike. The Zinc plating was pretty easy. It took a little trial and error but not much.

Added the front brake like guide and the vent hose retainer on the carburetor. I forget to order these before.

And this:
And this:
Every build i have done has been a copper or steel wire wheel attached to a drill. When I am done and they are almost worn to the center, it's like a rite of passage.

I used SOS Pads to get some of the carbon off. I used the fine cleaning wheel from here: PrymeMX
I also used a buffer that I got from Home Depot. It has long arms. to get at parts from all angles.

All I need now is a Clark tank. Actually the tank that is on the bike is a Clark. The bike had it when I bought it.

What color did you powdercoat the frame?

I replaced the old vent lines on the carburetor. While I had the carburetor out I decided to get all the oxidation off.

The old build sticker got destroyed when the frame was powder coated. I just replaced it with a reproduction sticker from Blue Line Graphics.

I added the small little guide for the carburetor vent line. It is no longer made but they can be found. I thought I did not have one but I found it in the old parts drawer and polished it up.

I got a front axle. Someone before me bent the old one. I cleaned it up and zinc plated the ends.

I recently purchased one of those elongated shaft buffers. Your post here reminded me to do it. Thank you.

Great job on the little extras you have done. It is insanely satisfying just looking at it when it’s all done and enjoying the sense you did all the work.

Thankfully I have some other CRs that still need to be done so I will always be able to have at least one looking perfect like yours.
I have several years worth of restoring to do.

Wow! That is awesome! I am finding things to do on mine. I have a Clark tank on the way. There is currently a 6 week wait. Get you some of those pads from prymemx.com like I did. It makes it really easy.

My brake pedal had left and right play so I found another used one and fixed it up. Jave you ever put a sleeve in the brake pedal?
