2 stoke mod for massive power increase !?

ok old timers....I remember a mod that could be done to the reed and intake mouth involving hoses ( from the carb or? ) like a reed spacer or something....and I remember a guy sold a kit for it on ebay

and I remember it worked so well that people said the power increase was wild and unmanageable ....words from a noted 2 stroke tuner back in the day

anybody have a recollection of this mod?

It was called a "Boost Bottle". It came stock on 1979 Yamaha Yz100's and 125's.
I don't recall it making a bunch more power, but it did help as it smoothed out the fuel mix delivery.

close...but not it....the 490 in my pic had a boost bottle Smile

Yammi used boost bottles for many yrs on many bikes

this setup was a little more complicated

i wanna say it drew air from before the reed block and went by hoses after the reed block ?
