Need a lower clamp, mine has broken steer stop post. Will also take a complete set of Applied clamps if someone has them. I”m trying to keep this bike mostly stock and avoid swapping later model front end on it. Thanks ....here is photo of the bike...

Ok, your on the west coast. I”m On the East coast. I see your forks have a bad case of corrosion, mine have some very mild corrosion spots. I want to keep the bike as close to stock as possible, but my shock needs a rebuild and The shaft has some pitting, so Pete24 has a 96 shock for me, can’t see sinking money into the 94 shock with no HS compression adjuster. I have a set of stock 96 clamps that I can use for a Twin chamber conversion, kind of been enjoying putting them back to stock or at least period correct upgrades lately. Let me know what you want for the lower clamp. Thanks for responding 👍

Also looking for very good condition 94 forks with no corrosion on tubes, internals don’t have to be stock. Trying to keep this 94 mostly original or period correct mods. I know the 94 forks were grim but, I just feel like keeping this one close to stock.

Hey Sandman, I’m pretty sure I’ve got your bottom clamp. It’s OEM for a 94. I’m out of town until Saturday but I’ll double check. If It’s there it’s yours, just pay for shipping. Got A 94 myself, favorite bike ever.

How did you get the 06 forks to mount up and the 96 shock?

The 96 shock bolts right in after your trim the upper frame mount bolt area, the 96 shock has a thicker mount area. The front end has many variations. You won’t be able to use the 94 wheel & brake setup with the 06 forks, so you will have to use the entire front end setup, which is a good upgrade in brake performance. Your next issue will be the triple clamps. I have Applied clamps top & bottom on my bike, they will accept newer CRF 47mm twin chambers, you have to actually shim one of the clamps, I can’t remember upper or lower. Or you can have a custom set of clamps made at 500$+. The aluminum frame clamps are not an easy swap over, you have to get a bearing kit and then change the steer stops on the frame. Another option is having the stock clamps bored out to accept the newer forks, you will have to go to a motorcycle specific machine shop to have this done, as the center line is crucial to fork alignment, some clamps this cannot be done if there is not enough material on the existing clamps.
