Good new: I found this New OEM shifter for only... 28$ !!!(Shipping included)
The reference is that of a CR 250 model 94/95/96. It was replaced by the model reference of 2001 whih is the same shifter.

Even with new gaskets I have been afraid the OEM ignition cover wouldn't seal as well being plastic.

Man that is one of my favorite bike looks of all time. I had the same 01 250 and could never get that damn thing jetted right for our East Texas weather/humidity. Your side number plates, have you cut those ?

You have any issues with the kick starter hitting the carbon frame guards? I had the light speed ones on mine and the kick starter would rub the guard coming down.

Thank Bramlett321

Do you speak about the cut at the back of the plate number as on the HRC factory bikes?
I do not know yet, I'll see but yes indeed it could be nice Wink

Yes as you can see, I have the same problem: the bottom of the kick starer rubs a little protection but I still prefer to ride with these protections

Can you clue me in to where you acquired your front number plate? I bolted a 01 cr250 front end on my 89 cr125 and that plate look is badass. Thanks in advance.

Your build is fantastic btw.

Hello godcho,

At first, super build!! Im also in the process of rebuilding my cr250 2001. I have a what i believe UFO front number plate HRC style like you, but had you remove the bracket on the Bottom triple clamp for the brake hose guide? Milt plate hit the aluminium bracket on the triple clamp so its not a Nice and straight fit, its bend over that bracket zo looks ugly.

No I did not remove it and I do not think I encountered any discomfort during assembly

I stuck the identification sticker on the frame as originally

I finished sticking the woody graphic kit from Throttle Jockey. The result is really cool!

I'm still looking for vintage red Renthal foam.
