In the market for a new seat before this season starts. Rode last season with the stock 16’ KTM seat and cover. Its HORRIBLE! It was “ok” at 1st but now its getting thrown in the trash can as soon as I can make my mind up on what to buy here.

I have been looking into “soft” standard seat foams to get rid of the “tailbone” bruising/chaffing towards the end of my rides. I sit a lot riding up hills and playing around on the turn tracks at the local track so I need some “comfort”. Also the stock seat cover is awful as well. It is a legit slip & slide riding up steep hills and stuff. I am also all over the bike sliding everywhere so that does not help with the chaffing situation due to lack of grip. So a GUTS hardcore gripper cover will be in order with the foam.

I will be using the stock KTM seat pan with the velcro cover system.

I can get both off GUTS website for $140.

I replaced my stock CRF foam and cover with a softer one from GUTS and couldn't be happier!

What I am wondering is “how” soft is their soft foam? I want comfortable and durable. I don't want a memory foam seat but something that I can sit on and not kill my ass bone...

I bought the soft seat foam from guts and I hated it. I could feel the seat frame through it. Took it off after 2 rides. I’m not an overweight guy. 5-11 170.

I can't say for a KTM but the CRF is about 3x as thick so I have no issues with the soft foam. They even cut it 1" lower like they do for JMart since I'm 5'6"

Try the phantom foam. Biggest issue I have with my seats is water logging after washing. It changes the feel and ruins the foam. Soft is too soft and hard is too hard. I’m wondering if the phantom foam is just perfect? Anyhoo....that’s what I use. I get the tall foam and I like it over stock

I bought the tall soft seat foam and loved it when I had it. I'm 225 and never base through the foam or anything like that.

I may go with the tall foam then. Is it way taller than stock height or just enough for added foam so you dont sit on the seat base? Im 6’2” probably. Dont want it so tall it makes ot tough in the woods when im in trouble in a spot....

I'm also 6'2". You'll notice it, but since it's soft foam you don't sink any further than the stock height. And it's really only taller in the middle; flatter profile. Just remember you'll have to get a cover for the taller foam. I'd recommend a ribbed one but that's just my opinion.
