That’s what the guy said it was. a 96 YZ250, but I haven’t really looked at it to verify the year and Well you guys, after helping me with my first build on my KTM, I just want to say thanks and I need your guys help. I picked up a 96 YZ250 and I want to do the same thing I did to my KTM. This thing hahahaha you guys are gonna say I’m retarded but hey hahahaha this thing is so bad. It’s been through hell and back. I think the engine is siezed bottom end. I need some manuals if anyone has any links. Thanks you guys.

Thanks man. I’m looking for any tips. Maybe someone knows of some manuals I can download online. It has everything it needs I just have to fix the engine and put it together. It cost me 100 dollars just like my first build. Hopefully this one I can do cheaper than the first.

Well the engine sight unseen will be a lot of work I can tell you one of your most challenging aspects will be obtaining that navy blue plastic for the fenders and radiator shrouds hopefully you do because that bike was one of the best looking stock production bikes rolling off the showroom floor I've ever seen and I especially like the OEM Graphics from 96

I would put in a request to UFO for blue plastics...they have been doing some good deeds for older mx bike's lately.

I got good news to. I have a friend who is a girl and she’s going to show me how to rebuild the bottom end. She said it’s actually quite easy. Who would of thought (: a chick showing me how to do it. Lol

I got a big choice here. Spend money on this bottom end or buy a new one. I think I need to just buy a new one. This thing is destroyed. I’ll have to end up buying all the new parts for it and a new Crank case

Jeremy, next time you're down in Visalia swing by and I'll give you a nearly complete YZ250 engine. Unsure of it's exact year, but the cases read 4JW, which means it's a 94-97 engine. I don't know it's history, but the cases look like they should be just fine.

Big Thanks to Matt Fisher. I stopped by his house last night and he hooked me up with a bad ass engine. And then when I got home I noticed my other buddy dropped me off a project he don’t want anymore. It’s a 1989 yz250. So now I have two builds it’s actually pretty clean bike. I’ll start another thread on that one. And thanks Matt once again.

I to put the 96 on the back burner real fast and finish up what my buddy started on the 89. I just got the top end back on. New gaskets, no water in the crank case. Everything is tight just have to install the carb and I think I’m going to piss of my neighbors tonight lmao

Well I got it started going to ride it tomorrow for an hour or so and then put the rest together and then I can go back to my original project. I’m waiting on tools. I haven’t bought the tools I need yet. Does anyone have any suggestions.
